With AWS for Fluent Bit version 2.0.0, customers can now send container logs from Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or AWS Fargate to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams. The AWS for Fluent Bit container image is a lightweight log collector and shipper for containerized environments. It is the recommended logging agent for Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and AWS Fargate. The container image is available on Docker Hub, as well as regionalized Amazon ECR repositories provided by AWS.

Previously, AWS for Fluent Bit had built in support for sending logs to Amazon CloudWatch Logs and Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose. With the AWS Fluent Bit version 2.0.0, customers can now send logs to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams and process data with built-in integrations such as AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics, and Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose. Kinesis Data Streams can serve as a scalable buffer between log source and log destination. Additionally, AWS for Fluent Bit version 2.0.0 provides support for SSM Parameters which can be queried to find the image URI. These parameters can be used directly in your CloudFormation Templates. They also allow you to check for available versions, and determine if an AWS for Fluent Bit repository is located in your region. AWS for Fluent Bit is available in the Public AWS Partition, AWS GovCloud, and the AWS China partiton.
