Introducing AWS Elemental Media Event Management

Posted on: May 8, 2020

Today we announced the general availability of AWS Elemental Media Event Management (MEM), a support program designed to improve the operational reliability of your business-critical video events. MEM applies a structured process specifically designed for the unique operational requirements of large-scale video events that use AWS Media Services or AWS Elemental Appliances and Software, such as the broadcast of a marquee sports or the launch of a new online video service.

With MEM, you can increase reliability of your media workflow using best practices by leveraging the AWS Elemental Customer Success team’s deep technical expertise. The MEM team helps you identify and mitigate risks, and documents how you can achieve the resiliency, scalability, and performance you need. With direct access to experts, issues that arise during implementation, deployment, and testing of the video workflow for your event can be addressed quickly to keep the deployment on schedule.

Each MEM engagement consists of four phases: an initial Planning phase, a Preparation and Testing phase in the weeks leading to the event, Event Support on the day of your event, and a Retrospective summary after the event is complete. An Event Delivery Manager and a Media Enterprise Account Engineer from the AWS Elemental Customer Success team work with you throughout the engagement. The cost and duration varies depending on the size of your event and the complexity of your workload, and typical engagements last between 10 and 18 weeks.
