AWS IoT SiteWise is a managed service that makes it easy to collect, store, organize and monitor data from industrial equipment at scale to help you make better, data-driven decisions.
Users can now deploy conditional logic to detect malfunctioning equipment, flag deviations from typical equipment behavior, and trigger events or alarms based on a flag status. For example, industrial customers can use conditional logic to identify malfunctioning sensors within asset hierarchies which have exceeded a certain temperature threshold across their plants and need replacement.
With the string type and string manipulation functions, users can now easily define rules and conditional computations using string functions on user-defined metrics and transformations of incoming telemetry data and visualize the output in a SiteWise Monitor web application. The string supported features include concatenation, comparisons, case conversion, slicing, string length, and search. Users can decode statuses of their equipment using string datatype or intuitively visualize good and bad states of devices, enabling front-end agnostic conditional and string programming. AWS IoT SiteWise also now supports the boolean datatype, pseudo constants such as NONE, and computations with standalone attributes. For more information on supported formula and examples on string and conditional operations, see the SiteWise formula Expressions page.
