AWS Storage Gateway now makes it simpler and faster for you to get started with setting up and managing your hybrid cloud storage workflow. Using the Storage Gateway management console, you can now quickly create a new gateway in four easy steps: First, complete your local gateway setup. Second, connect your gateway to AWS. Third, activate your gateway. Fourth, finalize your gateway configuration.

In addition to a refreshed look and feel, you get enhanced wizard instructions and updated in-console help panel information, helping you to seamlessly navigate the gateway creation steps. Furthermore, once your gateway is created, you can now customize the layout of your Storage Gateway resources to fit your needs using the new Preferences setting in the management console, where you can customize the displayed resource details and number of items.

Storage Gateway is a hybrid cloud storage service that provides on-premises applications access to virtually unlimited storage in the cloud. You can use Storage Gateway for backing up and archiving data to AWS, providing on-premises file shares backed by cloud storage, and providing on-premises applications low latency access to in-cloud data.

This capability is available starting today in all AWS Regions. Visit the Storage Gateway User guide to learn more, or log into the Storage Gateway console to get started.
