You can now create Multi-AZ Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems in the US West (N. California) Region, making it easy to deploy file storage that spans multiple AWS Availability Zones (AZs) to support business-critical workloads that require high availability and enhanced durability.
Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, an AWS service that provides the only complete, fully managed NetApp ONTAP file systems in the cloud, offers two file system deployment types: Single-AZ and Multi-AZ. Single-AZ file systems are designed to provide high availability and durability within a single AZ, providing a cost-optimized solution for use cases such as development and test environments, or storing secondary copies of data that is already stored on premises or in other AWS Regions. Multi-AZ file systems are designed to provide continuous availability to data even when an AZ is unavailable by automatically replicating data and failing over across AZs as needed, providing enhanced resiliency for business-critical and production workloads.
Starting today, Multi-AZ Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems are now available in all AWS Regions where FSx for ONTAP is available. To learn more about Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, visit our product page and the FSx for ONTAP documentation.
