Today, AWS announces the general availability of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) DL2q instances. DL2q instances are powered by Qualcomm AI 100 Standard accelerators and are the first to feature Qualcomm’s AI technology in the public cloud.

With 8 Qualcomm AI 100 Standard accelerators and 128 GiB of total accelerator memory, customers can use DL2q instances to run popular generative AI applications, such as content generation, text summarization, and virtual assistants, as well as classic AI applications for natural language processing and computer vision. Additionally, Qualcomm AI 100 features the same AI technology used across smartphones, autonomous driving, personal compute, and extended reality headsets, so DL2q instances can be used to develop and validate these AI workloads before deploying. DL2q instances combine Qualcomm’s AI edge technology with the flexibility, scalability, and breadth of AWS, so customers can iterate on their deep learning (DL) development faster.

DL2q instances are available in one size: dl2q.24xlarge in the following AWS Regions as On-Demand Instances, Reserved Instances, and Spot Instances, or as part of a Savings Plan: US West (Oregon) and Europe (Frankfurt).

To get started, visit the AWS Management Console, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), and AWS SDKs. To learn more, visit the DL2q instance page.
