Today, we are introducing a Free Tier for VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) that helps you get started with IP address management tasks. It includes features for public IP address planning, and also includes Public IP Insights which now provides a unified view of your public IPv4 usage. If you have an existing IPAM, it will now become Advanced Tier, and you can continue using its features without any change in IPAM cost.

In the Free Tier, you can use the public IP address planning features within the AWS account and Region in which IPAM is created. For example, you can bring your own IP (BYOIP) addresses to AWS or provision Amazon provided contiguous IPv6 blocks, and use them with resources such as EC2 Instances or VPCs in your AWS account. Additionally, with this launch, Public IP insights is now expanded to provide a unified view of your public IPv4 addresses across AWS accounts and Regions. You can use Public IP Insights to identify IPv4 addresses that are not in use, or inefficiently used, and optimize your public IPv4 address spend. For other IP management tasks such as retrospective audits, or for IP address planning across two or more AWS accounts or Regions, use the Advanced Tier.

The Free Tier of IPAM is available in all AWS Regions, except the China (Beijing, operated by Sinnet), and China (Ningxia, operated by NWCD) Regions. To learn more about what is included in each IPAM tier and the pricing, refer to the IPAM tab on the VPC pricing page. To get started with IPAM, view the What is IPAM page in our documentation.
