Andy Jassy leads the Amazon Web Services business (AWS) and the Technology Infrastructure organization for AWS is a subsidiary of that provides developers and businesses with cloud-based infrastructure services that are inexpensive, reliable, scalable, comprehensive and flexible. AWS has grown tremendously since its inception in 2006 and is now the underlying infrastructure for more than a million customers, including fast-growing startups, large enterprises, and government agencies across 190 countries.

As a member of’s senior executive team since 2002, Jassy is also responsible for helping guide the company’s overall direction.  He has held several key leadership positions since he joined Amazon in 1997.  He authored the business plan for Amazon’s entry into the Music business and served as both its Director of Product Management and General Manager; started and built the Customer Relationship Management team; served as Director of Marketing; worked as Technical Assistant to Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos; and most recently, Jassy started and continues to lead the Amazon Web Services business.

Jassy earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his master’s of business administration from Harvard Business School.


Dr. Werner Vogels is Chief Technology Officer at where he is responsible for driving the company's technology vision, which is to continuously enhance the innovation on behalf of Amazon's customers at a global scale.

Prior to joining Amazon, he worked as a researcher at Cornell University where he was a principal investigator in several research projects that targeted the scalability and robustness of mission-critical enterprise computing systems. He has held the positions of Research Engineer, VP of Technology and CTO in companies that handle the transition of academic technology into industry.

Vogels holds a Ph.D. from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and has authored many articles for journals and conferences, most of them on distributed systems technologies for enterprise computing.


Julia Grace is the Head of Infrastructure Engineering at Slack. Previously, she was cofounder and CTO of Tindie, a marketplace for electronics funded by Andreessen Horowitz, where she built out and led the engineering team from founding through acquisition. Prior joining the startup world, she spent several years building systems at IBM Research. Julia holds a BS and MS in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on distributed systems. She is an avid runner and once starred in a TV commercial.



Prakash Janakiraman is Co-Founder and Chief Architect at Nextdoor, the free and private social network for neighborhoods. Janakiraman began his career as a software engineer at Excite@Home in 1996 before moving into engineering management at and Epinions. Prior to Nextdoor, Janakiraman spent nearly three years at Google, where he managed engineering teams for Google Maps, Google Base, and Froogle. Janakiraman is from Hayward, California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley.
