    Containers are a powerful way for developers to package and deploy their applications. They are lightweight and provide a consistent, portable software environment for applications to easily run and scale anywhere. However, deploying our containers still creates another layer of complexity, and that's where Amazon ECS can help you. Amazon ECS makes it easy to use containers as a building block for your applications by eliminating the need for you to install, operate, and scale your cluster management infrastructure. It provides a simple yet powerful way to deploy modern applications in the AWS Cloud. Join us in this session packed with demos to learn together how you can easily deploy, release and run containerized applications using Amazon ECS, integration with Amazon ECR, and using AWS CoPilot to streamline the process.

    Building and running your first Kubernetes workload with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Level 200)

    Containers have emerged as the new standard for how we package and deploy our applications. However, orchestrating containers with Kubernetes does create another layer of complexity. In this session, learn how Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) makes deploying Kubernetes on AWS simple and scalable. We show you a simple method to create your first EKS Kubernetes cluster using the AWS CDK. We then demonstrate how to containerize a traditional Spring Boot Java application, and deploy it to your EKS cluster.

    Getting started with serverless applications (Level 200)

    With serverless computing, you can build and run applications without the need for provisioning or managing servers. Serverless computing means that you can build web, mobile, and IoT backends, run stream processing or big data workloads, run chatbots, and more, without worrying about the infrastructure. In this session, learn how to get started with serverless computing with AWS Lambda, which lets you run code without provisioning or managing servers. We show you why serverless is a great toolset for experimenting with new ideas, and hear how the extensibility and modularity of serverless applications allow us to start small and quickly add features. We introduce you to the broader portfolio of AWS services that help you build serverless applications with AWS Lambda, including Amazon API Gateway, Amazon DynamoDB and more. Lastly, while building the serverless applications, we leverage the AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM) tool, which is an open-source framework and deploy our serverless application via code.

    Getting started with event-driven architectures on AWS (Level 200)

    Event-driven architectures are becoming increasingly popular as companies modernize their applications. This is because event-driven design is a great way to capitalize on microservices architectures, controlled decoupling of services and align closely to the way that a business behaves rather than the way it’s structured. It also gives you the ability to focus on the molecules of the application when considering topics like resource allocation and business logic.     How to use Amazon Elastic File Storage as persistent storage for your containers effectively (Level 200)

    Containerizing applications that require data persistence is often challenging since containers are ephemeral. You can scale containers in and out dynamically and typically clear any saved state when terminated. Amazon EFS is a natural choice for persistent container storage. As it's a fully managed service that is simple to set up and elastically scales as you add or remove data, just like your container infrastructure.
