Deploy containerized web applications in minutes (Level 200)

AWS App Runner simplifies the deployment of web applications and APIs to the cloud, regardless of the programming language used. This means that even teams with no prior experience in container deployment or infrastructure management can easily deploy their applications. In this session, we show you how to build and deploy containerized web applications on AWS App Runner. Learn how App Runner automatically scales your application based on requests and load-balances traffic, making it ideal for applications that experience unpredictable traffic spikes.

Speaker: Tuan Huynh, Cloud Application Architect, AWS

Getting started with serverless applications (Level 200)

Serverless computing allows you to build and run applications without the need for managing servers. You can develop web, mobile, and IoT backends, run stream processing or big data workloads, run chatbots, and more, without worrying about the infrastructure. In this session, we show you how to get started with serverless computing using AWS Lambda. With Lambda, you can run your code without provisioning or managing servers. Discover why serverless is an excellent toolset for experimenting with new ideas and how the modularity and extensibility of serverless applications enable you to start small and quickly add features. We introduce you to the broader portfolio of AWS services that can help you build serverless applications with AWS Lambda, including Amazon API Gateway, Amazon DynamoDB, and more. Additionally, we use the AWS Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM) tool to build our serverless applications and deploy them via code.

Speaker: Tomas Mihalyi, Serverless Specialist (Enterprise Support), AWS

Build modern applications with fully-managed purpose built databases (Level 200)

Modern day highly distributed applications require diverse data models. Builders are looking for the right database to meet their application’s unique requirements for functionality, performance, and scale. The one-size-fits-all approach of using a relational database for everything no longer works. In this session, learn how you can pick the right AWS purpose-built database to meet the scale, performance, and manageability requirements when building your modern data infrastructure and applications.

Speaker: Surendar Munimohan, Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, Databases, AWS

Bring AWS to you with Hybrid Cloud Storage (Level 100)

As more and more customers seek to take advantage of the benefits of cloud storage, many find themselves struggling to find a way to connect their on-premises applications and systems with the cloud without sacrificing low-latency access or rapid data transfer. In this session, we show you how AWS hybrid cloud storage architectures can help you overcome these challenges. Learn how these architectures enable you to connect your on-premises applications and systems to cloud storage, reducing costs, minimizing management burden, and unleashing the full potential of your data. By leveraging hybrid cloud storage, you can maintain low-latency access to your data while benefiting from the scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness of cloud storage.

Speaker: Naim Mucaj, Storage Specialist Solutions Architect, AWS

Building your first serverless SaaS applications (Level 200)

Modern SaaS applications are increasingly reliant on serverless technologies. Serverless aligns naturally to the SaaS value proposition, enabling teams to better align their infrastructure costs with the activity of their system’s tenants. This session will look at how and where serverless constructs can be applied within your SaaS architecture, highlighting the natural fit between the needs of multi-tenant environments and operational/agility goals of SaaS organizations. As part of this, we’ll look at the Serverless SaaS reference architecture, an open source implementation using AWS serverless services built by the AWS SaaS Factory that can be used to build your SaaS business, spanning compute, storage, messaging, and other infrastructure components.

Speaker: Zp Bappi, Senior Partner Solutions Architect | SaaS Factor, AWS

How AMD’s leadership in cloud computing performance, energy and cost efficiency can help you optimize your cloud spend and save costs (Level 100)

AWS and AMD is a great combination in providing powerful yet cost effective solutions in hosting your most important workloads on cloud. In this session, we explore how AMD technologies outperform other offerings in the market, offer better and more portable security solutions for your sensitive data workloads, and understand how AMD achieve energy consumption and sustainability goals that fit your global aspirations. Many customers have already benefited from optimizing their cloud spend by switching to AMD solutions on AWS, by upgrading from older generation on premise servers or cloud instances, to newer AMD instances on AWS, to achieve higher performance at lower cost. This session demonstrates how you could achieve the same to drive greater cost savings for your organization, and generate more agility while doing so.
