Session Description
  • Build your applications
  • Build your applications

Learn the tools, frameworks and processes to build resilient and highly-available applications that scale and respond in milliseconds.

Containers and serverless: Choosing the optimal compute for your modern applications (Level 100)

Which should I choose, Serverless or Containers? This session unpacks this question by walking through common architecture patterns for building modern applications. Learn when it makes sense to use container image support in AWS Lambda, where AWS Fargate fits in event-based architecture, and more.

Speaker: Cameron Senese, Principal Container Specialist, AWS

Deploying your first web app in minutes (Level 200)

From serving content for static websites and single-page applications, to scaling up server-side web applications, AWS has the right tools to get the job done quickly and securely. In this session, we explain how to get started and host your first web application on AWS in a matter of minutes. Learn more about the various options available on AWS and how each option is appropriate for the different use cases. With each option we show you how to deploy your site with the use of illustrative demos.

Speaker: Derek Bingham, Senior Developer Advocate, AWS

Getting started with containers on AWS (Level 200)

Containers are a powerful way for developers to package and deploy their applications. They are lightweight and provide a consistent, portable software environment for applications to easily run and scale anywhere. However, deploying our containers still creates another layer of complexity, and that's where Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) can help you. Amazon ECS makes it easy to use containers as a building block for your applications by eliminating the need for you to install, operate, and scale your cluster management infrastructure. It provides a simple yet powerful way to deploy modern applications in the AWS Cloud. Join us in this session packed with demos to learn how you can easily deploy, release, and run containerized applications using Amazon ECS, integration with Amazon Elastic Container Registry (Amazon ECR), and using AWS Copilot to streamline the process.

Speaker: Donnie Prakoso, Principal Developer Advocate, AWS

Increase availability with AWS observability solutions (Level 100)

Performance monitoring is an important part of any application. By understanding the health of your application, you know whether it’s functioning as expected and can proactively react when it becomes unhealthy. To provide access to critical resources when needed and also limit the potential financial impact of an application outage, a highly available application design is critical. We show you how to add monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing to your applications, using Amazon CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray to increase the availability of your applications. Join this session to learn how AWS observability solutions can help you proactively detect, efficiently investigate, and quickly resolve operational issues. All of which help you manage and improve your application’s availability.

Speaker: Rohini Gaonkar, Senior Developer Advocate, AWS

Getting started with DevOps by implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Release Pipeline (Level 200)

DevOps is the combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools to increase development velocity to deliver apps. In general, practicing DevOps enable organizations to better serve customers and compete effectively in the market. Infrastructure as Code and release pipeline with CI/CD are two of the best practices in DevOps, and are considered the best entry for developers who are just getting started with DevOps. Join us in this session to understand how we can implement IaC and CI/CD using AWS Cloud Development Kit. We show you step-by-step demos to help you get started. After this session, you will understand the overall concept of IaC and CI/CD, AWS services you need to use, and developer tools for seamless integration with your development workflow.

Speaker: Donnie Prakoso, Principal Developer Advocate, AWS

Getting started with AWS Startup Programs and building your MVP on AWS (Level 100)

Begin your startup journey with AWS and get to know the benefits provided by our startup team. The AWS Activate program is designed for startups and early stage entrepreneurs that offers the resources needed to get started on AWS. Building a minimum viable product (MVP) is something all startups do, but it's an unusual process. Unlike a prototype, MVPs focus your build on the necessary features first so you can get to market quickly and then return to add features as you scale. We share some of the tools and methodologies for building your MVP on AWS. Find out how to pick the right technologies and use pre-configured architectures to speed up your development. Get an overview of how startups use services like Amazon API Gateway, AWS Amplify, AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), AWS Lightsail and database options to help launch your product.

    Speakers:
Nicha Suebwonglee, Venture Capital Business Development Manager, AWS
Andrew Wangsanata, Startup Solutions Architect, AWS

Simplify remote work experience with End User Computing (EUC) on AWS (Level 200)

Organizations increasingly need options that enable employees to work from any location while remaining secure and productive. AWS EUC services help companies onboard new employees remotely, and enable access to their desktops and applications, from anywhere, while meeting the requirements of our most security conscious organizations. In this session, learn how you can leverage Amazon Workspaces, Amazon WorkDocs, Amazon AppStream 2.0, Amazon Chime, and Amazon Connect to provide a fully managed and secure work experience for your employees.

Speaker: Eshaan Anand, Senior Partner Solutions Architect, AWS

Build modern applications with purpose-built databases (Level 200)

Seldom can one database fit the needs of multiple distinct use cases. The days of the one-size-fits-all monolithic database are behind us, and we are building highly distributed applications using many purpose-built databases. The world is evolving and the categories of databases continue to grow. We are increasingly seeing customers wanting to build internet-scale applications that require diverse data models. In response to these needs, we offer the choice of key-value, wide column, document, in-memory, graph, time-series, and ledger databases. Each solves a specific problem or group of problems. In this session, learn more about AWS purpose-built databases that meet the scale, performance, and manageability requirements of modern applications.

Speaker: Orlando Andico, Senior Solutions Architect, AWS

How to get your data to the cloud (Level 200)

Are you looking at ways to transfer applications, user or backup/archive data to AWS? AWS hybrid cloud storage architectures connect your on-premises applications and systems to cloud storage to help you reduce costs, minimize management burden, and innovate with your data. Join this session to learn how to use AWS Hybrid Cloud Storage Services to facilitate the transfer and presentation of Cloud Storage for your users and applications.

Speaker: Naim Mucaj, Storage Specialist Solutions Architecture, AWS

Putting machine learning in the hands of every builder with AWS databases, analytics, and ML (Level 200)

Business insights through analytics with SAP on AWS (Level 200)

Cloud is transformational for our customers when they can derive new business insights from a combination of both SAP and Non-SAP data. CXOs are analyzing the benefits of SAP RISE on AWS verses native SAP on AWS as a migration approach. AWS provides an SAP-certified cloud infrastructure for running SAP workloads. SAP on AWS customers can leverage AWS analytics, artificial Intelligence and machine learning capabilities to get near real-time insights which move the needle for their business performance. This session demonstrates the art of the possible using AWS AI/ML tools to derive new business insights by: extracting data from SAP using AWS managed services, staging that data in AWS, and then making predictions from that data using AWS ML services.
