Innovating SAP the Easy Way – Migrate it to AWS
Speaker: Eric Lam, Solutions Architect, AWS

SAP provides software that many organizations continue to use to manage core workload requirements, with a significant number of these organizations running their SAP workloads on AWS. However, SAP doesn’t need to be operated similarly in the cloud as it is on premise. AWS can still drive innovation, even in operating solutions from companies such as SAP. Join us to see how organizations who have a strong leverage on AWS, carry over their platform knowledge to SAP workloads. They can improve the efficiency of their application teams - from easier migrations, to reducing time spent in operations, and overall improving the flexibility of delivering SAP workloads.

An Overview of Best Practices for Large-Scale Migrations & the AWS Migration Acceleration Program
Speaker: David Florey, Head of Professional Services, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macau, AWS

Up to 80% of enterprise IT budgets are spent on maintaining existing workloads and keeping the lights on versus focusing on new products and services to better serve customers. Migrating existing workloads to the cloud provides a lever to do that, providing efficiencies and benefits on your existing workloads. Also we've partnered with hundreds of customers on their large-scale migrations to AWS, let us share some common challenges that our customers face and how they've overcome these challenges. The session also describes the patterns we've observed that make legacy migrations successful, and the mechanisms we've created to help customers migrate faster, in particular the AWS's proven Migration Acceleration Program.

    15:50 - 16:30

Get to Know Your Customers - Build and Innovate with a Modern Data Architecture
Speaker: Dickson Yue, Solutions Architect, AWS

Your customers probably want a better experience with your brand. Your different business teams want and need better insights in their decision making. Almost certainly, your finance and operations teams require this to happen at a fraction of the cost of traditional on-premises options. Modern data architectures on AWS help many of our best customers realise all of those goals. Your business data contains critical information about customer behaviours, operational decisions, and many factors that have financial impact on your organisation. Increasingly, this data sits beyond your transactional systems, and is too big, too fast, and too complex for existing systems to handle. AWS Data and Analytics services are designed from our customers' requirements to ingest, store, analyse, and consume information at record-breaking scale. In this session you will learn how these services work together to deliver business automation, enhance customer engagement and intelligence.

    Step 1: VALIDATE
Cloud Economics: Achieving Business Value in Moving to Cloud
Speaker: Zane Moi, Deputy General Manager, Hong Kong, AWS

With cloud computing, sizable companies are able to host applications, mission-critical workloads, and special projects on the infrastructure built and maintained by a third party provider. This allows them to avoid large, upfront hardware investments and pay only for what they use. The economic benefits of cloud span cost savings to step change improvements in agility and productivity. This session outlines a framework of business value and impact of moving to the cloud with AWS.

    11:40 - 13:00 Lunch
    13:00 - 13:40

    Step 2: LEAD THE CHANGE
How to Manage Organizational Change & Culture Impact During Cloud Transformation
Speaker: Dean Samuels, Head of Solutions Architecture, Hong Kong & Taiwan, AWS

This session will cover three main areas of managing organizational change and the impact to culture during a cloud transformation. The first is why cloud transformations have such a significant impact on organizations and people. Second, we'll review an overview of an organizational change management framework, and finally, we’ll discuss how to apply an Organizational Change Management framework to the cloud, wrapping up with some case studies to inspire you.

    13:40 - 13:50 Transition
    13:50 - 14:30

    Step 3: BUILD
How Different Large Organizations are Approaching Cloud Adoption
Speaker: Sebastien Linsolas, Solutions Architect, AWS

The implementation of highly scalable, easy-to-deploy technology is transforming enterprises, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. Organizations begin their cloud adoption journeys in many ways. Some start with pilot projects and others jump into mission-critical programs, but they are all starting with an existing infrastructure. Adopting cloud doesn’t mean scrapping it all and starting over. This session explores how organizations are using cloud while building on their existing technology and lessons they’ve learned along the way. In this session we will discuss when and how to leverage hybrid cloud computing to meet the needs of the enterprise. We will cover popular hybrid cloud use cases in enterprises, pillars to design a secure hybrid cloud environment and how to get started with AWS.

    14:30 - 15:00 Afternoon break
    15:00 - 15:40

    Step 4: OPERATE & SECURE
Well-Operated: Cloud Management, Security and Compliance Best Practices for Enterprise
Speaker: Iolaire Mckinnon, Senior Consultant, Security, Risk & Compliance, AWS

As enterprise IT leaders build their cloud strategy, changes to ongoing operational, security and compliance practices are often considered too late in the process. This creates problems and slows down migration projects. This session outlines a new model for running "Well-Operated" in a cloud-first world and features learnings from enterprise customers who have successfully moved production workloads to the cloud. Learn:
    1) How to ensure a smooth, fast migration by considering ongoing operations upfront
    2) Why your operations team is key to creating a culture of innovation
    3) How to set up your team members for success after the migration
    4) Who should own infrastructure operations when you're running Dev Ops
    5) How to adapt your security and compliance policies to the cloud
    6) When to rearchitect or "refactor" your applications.

    15:40 - 15:50 Transition
    15:50 - 16:30

    Step 5: INNOVATE
Real-World AI and Deep Learning for Enterprise with Case Studies
Speaker: Osemeke Isibor, Solutions Architect, AWS

Artificial Intelligence is here this time, to stay. For the Enterprise, AI materializes into solutions that improve customers' experiences by optimizing, automating, and personalizing high-volume tasks while lowering cost and time to market, therefore accelerating innovation. In this session, we cover AWS' AI products and services that enable innovation in the enterprise while maintaining compliance with different regimes such as HIPAA, PCI, and more. Finally, we discuss enterprise architectures on AWS for machine learning and deep learning workloads.
