Secure file ingestion has protected stored data and supports compliance for sensitive information

    Reviewed on Feb 16, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

In our organization, MetaDefender Storage Security  is used to protect on-premises or cloud-based storage systems from malware and to perform malware scans at the storage end.

At the GISPL team or GISPL organization, we help clients ensure their data, information, and PII information are secured on their storage devices. If any employees or their customers are storing applications or using portals, we make sure they are secured and should not lead to any type of malware attacks. The challenges I face while performing malware scans involve the fact that some malware available in society or on the internet contains a signature to protect themselves from the scanner. I face some challenges in the configuration part to detect all those malwares which have a self-signed or properly signed malware to prevent detection from any type of anti-malware scanner or antivirus.

    What is most valuable?

The best feature is secure file ingestion, which scans files uploaded by users on storage at MetaDefender Storage Security . There is also an advanced threat prevention system and DLP , which are the most helpful features instead of only malware scans.

This solution helps us secure against day-to-day attacks from unknown attackers and protects data by performing scheduled scans. Implementing MetaDefender Storage Security has definitely reduced incidents like malware attacks and data loss incidents. It also helps us with compliance that is required to maintain the storage security policy.

    What needs improvement?

I wish to see a daily malware signature update feature in the future for MetaDefender Storage Security that updates the current malware signatures automatically.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using MetaDefender Storage Security for 1.5 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

MetaDefender Storage Security is stable and reliable for me so far.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    It handles changing needs easily.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for MetaDefender Storage Security is good, though my requests have been regarding license information.

I would rate the customer support a ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before MetaDefender Storage Security.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I went straight to using MetaDefender Storage Security without evaluating other options.

What other advice do I have?

I prefer not to share information about reduced incidents or time saved because I was at the end of a company dealing with customers' details and their files stored on their server's storage system due to legal or sensitive information concerns.

I would prefer to share information about time saved and money saved because if we are using a complete solution at a single end for the storage and files stored in the storage database, we do not require much more resources or manpower to maintain the data loss prevention system.

I definitely advise others to use MetaDefender Storage Security to protect stored data on servers or business servers.
