Automated workflows have reduced manual file transfers and improve secure data exchange

    Reviewed on May 21, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I use GoAnywhere MFT  for secure file transfers between internal teams such as vendors. As my domain is in banking-related services, I use it for banking systems and cloud platforms.

GoAnywhere MFT 's secure forms functionality was used for scenarios where external users or vendors needed to upload sensitive documents securely instead of sharing credentials or giving direct server access. Users could simplify uploads through a secure form, and the workflow would automatically process and transfer those files internally, making the process both secure and user-friendly.

I do use connectors in GoAnywhere MFT . I work with different types of connectors including integration, and I personally handle integration around SFTP servers, databases, REST APIs, and shared folders.

Out-of-the-box, I find the range of connectors provided by GoAnywhere MFT  to be effective. For SAP-related integrations, we mostly check and secure between SAP-generated systems and downstream applications using automated workflows, which are related to out-of-the-box features.

I use GoAnywhere agents. The agent is useful in some restricted environments where direct service exposure is not allowed. The benefit is that the agent helps me execute a job securely within the internal network while being centrally controlled from the main MFT server, thus helping maintain security as well as operational flexibility.

I do use the GoFast feature in GoAnywhere MFT to accelerate data. It is especially useful for larger file transfers; the traditional SFTP server works fine for smaller files, but when the file size becomes huge or network latency increases, GoFast improves transfer speed significantly. It helps in reducing transfer time for bulk data movement and improves the overall experience.

    What is most valuable?

For me, the best feature of GoAnywhere MFT is definitely the automation for workflow design. It makes a complex file transfer process very easy to build and manage without needing to make custom scripting.

The centralized dashboard feature is great because from one place I can monitor transfers, failures, alerts, logs, and audit trails.

The secure forms have simplified my day-to-day operations by streamlining the upload of files and the workflow, which previously required manual intervention and needed to be sorted out, saving me time. The use of secure forms in GoAnywhere MFT saves me around one to two hours.

    What needs improvement?

I think GoAnywhere MFT is already strong from the stability and security standpoint, but it can improve more in UI modernization and advanced analytics. Features including smart monitoring and AI-based failure prediction could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for around one year.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support of GoAnywhere MFT as eight out of ten.

    How was the initial setup?

The deployment of GoAnywhere MFT is easy. It takes around seven to eight hours to deploy GoAnywhere MFT.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen around nine out of ten return on investment with GoAnywhere MFT.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

From my perspective, the pricing of GoAnywhere MFT is cost-efficient.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Compared to products including IBM Sterling, I find GoAnywhere MFT much easier to learn and manage. While IBM Sterling is very powerful for a large enterprise B2B ecosystem, it can become complex and heavy to maintain. GoAnywhere MFT feels more flexible and user-friendly for day-to-day operations and workflow automation.

What other advice do I have?

I will definitely recommend GoAnywhere MFT to others looking to implement the solution from the perspective of stability, reliability, and the time usually spent manually transferring data. GoAnywhere MFT is less time-consuming, and the automations and scripting part is very easy to maintain, so I would recommend it to other vendors and customers. I rate this product nine out of ten.

Secure file transfers and compliance have improved while the admin interface still needs clarity

    Reviewed on May 19, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I use GoAnywhere MFT  for two to three primary use cases. The first involves transferring files to vendors and customers. I have two to three vendors who process all documentation on behalf of our company, and I use this application to transfer our files to them in a more secure way.

The second use case involves audits that occur half-yearly and quarterly, where compliance is very important. I opted for GoAnywhere MFT  so that there would be encryption within the sharing and logs would be generated. These two aspects are major factors for our organization. We are at a very early stage, and last month I used the MFT  to show an auditor our logs during an audit. From a compliance perspective, our company takes this very seriously, and I am using two to three features within GoAnywhere MFT  in this manner.

    What is most valuable?

GoAnywhere MFT is very scalable. I have integrated it with Amazon S3  and am working to integrate it with REST APIs as well. Database integration was also very easy. I have an on-site, on-premises SFTP setup, and that integration works very well. Scalability is very good, and I am able to accomplish what we need.

GoAnywhere MFT is secure, though the external part does not maintain the compliance posture to the same degree. However, I am doing it in a secure way, and it is getting the job done. I am doing the automation part, and the automations run on different APIs, such as the REST API, WebLogic, or some running on the AWS  cloud with the help of Lambda.

The initial deployment for GoAnywhere MFT was very easy. A third-party person came and gave us the proof of concept. I understood all the workflows, and then I got it integrated. It took about 15 to 20 days to integrate and get it implemented, so integration was very easy.

The maintenance part is looked after by the server team. I am managing it, so maintenance does not fall under my responsibility. In the last three and a half months, I have never noticed any maintenance required other than log rotation. I have a procedure where I rotate the logs every 15 days because too many logs are being generated. The log rotation is very easy, and there is no issue with that.

    What needs improvement?

Right now I am not in a position to tell you the improvements for GoAnywhere MFT because it has only been three or four months since I opted for it, and I am still understanding how the process works. If you need an improvement recommendation, I can provide one after six months.

One improvement I can tell you about is something I observed during the SAS integration project. The admin screen or system administrator homepage is very cluttered. While integrating with SAS, the homepage could be more user-friendly and more informative. It is not informative enough. What I have to do on the admin page is copy and paste information to ChatGPT or elsewhere to understand what it exactly means. This is something I noticed during the integration part.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for three or four months since I opted for it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not experienced any lag issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere MFT is very scalable. I have integrated it with Amazon S3  and am working to integrate it with REST APIs as well. Database integration was also very easy. I have an on-site, on-premises SFTP setup, and that integration works very well. Scalability is very good, and I am able to accomplish what I need.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had any partnership with customer service, and I received only a name, not a company name.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use a previous solution because due to compliance becoming very strict in recent years, there was no such software available. I was using my own file transfer protocol, which I was sharing to users as well over OneDrive.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment for GoAnywhere MFT was very easy. A third-party person came and gave us the proof of concept. I understood all the workflows, and then I got it integrated. It took about 15 to 20 days to integrate and get it implemented, so integration was very easy.

    What about the implementation team?

A third-party person came and gave us the proof of concept. I understood all the workflows, and then I got it integrated.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think the pricing for GoAnywhere MFT is expensive. Although I am not from the government sector, I have discussed pricing during the proof of concept phase, and the licensing is a bit expensive. For the advanced features I plan to opt for in the near future, such as secure forms or advanced workflows where I can multiply and channel workflows that will get automated with the help of scheduling batch jobs, those features are a bit costly. I will have to opt for advanced licensing.

What other advice do I have?

I have not used any of the connectors because I have all private vendors, so connectors are not required. I am integrating secure forms now, and it is good. The secure forms mechanism is very good, and I liked it. I am currently under the integration phase. I am planning to integrate additional features, but right now I cannot commit to anything. I believe GoAnywhere MFT will serve as a single solution for every problem that I am pursuing. My review rating for GoAnywhere MFT is 7.

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for GoAnywhere MFT  is automating secure file transfers between internal systems, vendors, and cloud storage without manually handling sensitive data.

A specific example of a file transfer I have automated with GoAnywhere MFT  is that we use it to automatically pull daily transaction files from an SFTP server, encrypt them with PGP, and push them to our finance systems without any manual intervention.

GoAnywhere MFT  is also used by our HR and compliance teams for scheduled report sharing, mainly because it provides better visibility and audit tracking than basic FTP scripts.

    What is most valuable?

The best feature GoAnywhere MFT  offers in my experience is the workflow automation, as setting up scheduled transfers, encryption, alerts, and retries in one place saves a significant amount of manual effort.

The workflow automation makes my day-to-day work easier by cutting down repetitive administrative work since failed transfers, retries, notifications, and file routing all happen automatically instead of requiring constant manual monitoring of jobs.

The built-in encryption and detailed audit logs are also really useful, especially when dealing with compliance-heavy environments where I need to track every file.

GoAnywhere MFT has positively impacted my organization by making file transfers more reliable and reducing many manual errors, especially for our teams handling sensitive or high-volume data exchanges. We have definitely seen fewer transfer failures and manual support tickets, saving several hours a week by automating retries, monitoring, and scheduled file delivery workflows.

    What needs improvement?

GoAnywhere MFT is solid overall, but the UI and workflow designer could feel more modern and intuitive, especially for new admins managing complex jobs.

The documentation could be more practical with real-world workflow examples, and some cloud integrations require more setup effort than expected.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    GoAnywhere MFT is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere MFT's scalability has been stable for us, even with large daily transfer volumes, and scaling workflows or adding new integrations has not required much rework once the initial setup was completed.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support of GoAnywhere MFT is exceptional.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before choosing GoAnywhere MFT, I was using a mix of custom FTP scripts and older legacy transfer tools, but maintaining them was messy and difficult to scale as compliance requirements grew.

    How was the initial setup?

The advice I would give to others looking into using GoAnywhere MFT is to spend time planning your workflows and security policies upfront, as once it is set up properly, the automation and reliability truly pay off in the long run.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with GoAnywhere MFT, mainly through time savings and reduced operational overhead, as we spend far less time troubleshooting failed transfers, and one administrator can now manage workflows that previously required multiple manual touchpoints.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated other options before choosing GoAnywhere MFT, including IBM Sterling and Axway MFT, and GoAnywhere felt easier to manage for our team size and use case.

What other advice do I have?

GoAnywhere MFT is a great platform for organizations that prioritize reliability, auditability, and secure automation over a modern user interface, and it delivers the job reliably. I would rate this review a 7 out of 10.

Automation has streamlined secure data workflows and now supports reliable audit tracking

    Reviewed on May 14, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our main use case for GoAnywhere MFT  is secure automated file transfer and workflow management for large and mapping data assets across internal teams and external partners. At HERE Technology, we work with spatial data that needs to be transferred securely and consistently between processing environments, analytics teams, and vendor systems. GoAnywhere MFT  helps to automate these transfers while maintaining visibility, audit tracking, and schedule control.

One specific example involves automating the transfer of validated road network and map update datasets from our internal processing environment to downstream analytical and quality assurance systems.

Handling large-volume geospatial datasets that require reliable and secure delivery across multiple operational workflows is particularly important for our team. Since mapping and spatial data processing can involve continuous updates, we rely heavily on automation and scheduling to avoid delays in downstream systems. Day-to-day, GoAnywhere MFT  is mainly used for monitoring scheduled transfers, validating successful job execution, logging secure integration, tracking audit logs, and troubleshooting transfer-related issues. The centralized dashboard and workflow visibility are especially useful for operational monitoring.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that GoAnywhere MFT  offers are that it is focused on reliable file transfer.

The features that stand out the most with GoAnywhere MFT are workflow automation, centralized monitoring, secure file transfer support, and detailed audit logging. From an operational perspective, the automation capabilities are probably the most valuable feature for our team. We use scheduled workflows and event-based triggers for recurring file transfers, which especially reduces manual intervention and improves consistency. This is especially useful when handling large geospatial datasets and recurring data chain processes.

Another strong feature is the centralized management interface. Having visibility into transfer job status and logs in a single dashboard makes day-to-day monitoring much easier for our operational team. The workflow tracking and audit trails are also very useful for troubleshooting and compliance-related reporting.

    What needs improvement?

GoAnywhere MFT is a strong platform overall, but there are a few areas where the product could still improve. One area for improvement would be enhanced reporting and analytical capabilities. The platform provides solid audit logging and monitoring, but more advanced visualizations, customizable reporting dashboards, and deeper operational analytics would help teams analyze transfer performance and troubleshoot issues faster in large enterprise environments.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

GoAnywhere MFT is stable. We have not experienced any downtime or reliability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere MFT has scaled well in our environment.

    What was our ROI?

Overall, we have seen a positive return on investment for using GoAnywhere MFT through operational efficiency, reduced manual effort, and improved reliability for recurring file transfer workflows. One of the biggest benefits was time savings from automation. Before standardizing transfers through GoAnywhere MFT, some workflows required manual monitoring, scripting maintenance, and validation checks. After implementing automated scheduled workflows and centralized monitoring, the amount of manual intervention required to manage transfers decreased noticeably.

We also saw an improvement in transfer reliability and fewer operational issues related to failed or delayed transfers because monitoring, notifications, and tracking became centralized.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our experience with the pricing of the solution has been generally positive. The platform is suitable for small to large-sized organizations. The license model was flexible because an organization can license additional capabilities based on their specific requirements. For setup and implementation, standard planning and configuration effort was required.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise others considering GoAnywhere MFT to first thoroughly assess their file transfer workflows, integration requirements, security policies, and operational goals before implementation. The platform delivers the most value when it is used not just as a simple file transfer tool, but as a centralized managed file transfer and workflow automation solution.

Another strength for GoAnywhere MFT is the support for secure protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, and AS2. This simplifies secure integration with external vendor and partner systems. We also found the encryption and security controls useful for protecting sensitive data transfers.

GoAnywhere MFT delivers strong automation, security, and reliability for enterprise file transfer operations, but there are still some areas where the overall experience could be improved. The platform performs very well when it comes to secure managed file transfers, workflow automation, scheduling, centralized monitoring, and audit logging. These capabilities have improved operational efficiency and reduced manual effort. The areas for improvement are mainly related to usability and administrative complexity. I rate GoAnywhere MFT an 8 out of 10.

Automated workflows have improved secure data exchange and simplified compliance management

    Reviewed on May 13, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for GoAnywhere MFT  is secure file transfer and management within the organization. During this time, I have worked with it for secure data exchange, to automate file transfer workflow, compliance-related file handling, and centralized transfer management in an enterprise environment.

One use case for GoAnywhere MFT  in our environment is handling secure and compliant file transfers between internal systems, external partners, and business applications. For example, when sensitive data needs to be transferred to external entities, GoAnywhere MFT  helps ensure the transfer process is secure, encrypted, and centrally monitored. Instead of relying on manual file-sharing methods, the platform automates the transfer workflow using secure protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, or HTTPS.

Another use case is access control and user management. Only authorized users and systems can access specified transfer workflows or sensitive files, which helps improve security and support compliance.

    What is most valuable?

One of the best features GoAnywhere MFT  offers is its workflow automation capability. The platform allows us to automate complex file transfer processes using centralized workflow scheduling. This significantly reduces manual intervention and improves operational consistency. In day-to-day operations, this is especially valuable for recurring secure file transfers.

From a security perspective, the encryption and compliance features stand out. GoAnywhere MFT supports strong encryption such as AES, OpenPGP, SSL, and SSH for protecting files both in transit and at rest. The centralized auditing, access control, and detailed reporting are also extremely useful for audits and compliance requirements.

GoAnywhere MFT has positively impacted our organization by improving secure file transfer management, reducing manual operational effort, and strengthening compliance and data protection processes. One major improvement was the automation of recurring file transfer workflows. Previously, many file exchange processes required manual monitoring and scripting, which increased operational overhead and the risk of human error. With GoAnywhere MFT's scheduled workflows, automated transfers, encryption, and centralized monitoring, we significantly improved operational efficiency and consistency.

Several operational improvements were observed after implementing GoAnywhere MFT, particularly in automation efficiency, reduction in manual errors, and centralized file transfer management. One noticeable improvement was the reduction in manual effort required for recurring transfer tasks. The transfer file task automated workflow saved time for our operations and support teams.

    What needs improvement?

GoAnywhere MFT is a strong and reliable managed file transfer platform, but there are a few areas where improvement could further enhance the user experience and operational efficiency. One area that could be improved is the user interface and workflow design experience. While the platform provides powerful automation and management capabilities, some advanced workflow configuration and administrative tasks can feel complex for new users or teams managing large environments. A more modern and intuitive interface would improve usability.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for the last two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    GoAnywhere MFT is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere MFT's scalability is generally positive because one noticeable improvement was the reduction in time spent managing recurring file transfer tasks. Before implementing GoAnywhere MFT, several transfer processes relied on manual execution of custom scripts that required monitoring and troubleshooting. With automated workflow and centralized management, these tasks became much more efficient and required significantly less administrative effort.

How are customer service and support?

    The customer support is positive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did use a different solution previously before GoAnywhere MFT.

    How was the initial setup?

Our experience with GoAnywhere MFT pricing, setup cost, and licensing was generally positive. The initial setup and licensing cost can be significant, depending on deployment size, number of workflows, integration, and enterprise requirements. Licensing is generally based on organization requirements, deployment scale, and enabled features, so organizations should carefully evaluate their file transfer volume. The setup process itself was manageable, although proper planning was important for workflow designing, security configuration, and user access management.

    What about the implementation team?

We do not have a business relationship with the vendor other than being a customer. We use GoAnywhere MFT internally for secure, automated, and compliant file handling workflow automation.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing GoAnywhere MFT, we did not evaluate other options.
