Scalable Reports & Perform the better optimized dashboard activities
What do you like best about the product?
Its capability to provide powerful, pixel-perfect reporting stands out, all while maintaining impressive flexibility and being straightforward to embed within other applications. The platform accommodates a broad array of data sources and allows for extensive customization thanks to its open and extensible architecture. Integration with Java and REST APIs is seamless, making it particularly reliable for producing high-quality documents, such as invoices, regulatory reports, and operational summaries, in enterprise settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jaspersoft is that its user interface can feel dated and less intuitive compared to modern BI tools, report design often has a steep learning curve—especially for non-technical users—performance tuning can be complex for large or highly dynamic reports, and advanced features or scalability typically require the commercial edition, which can increase cost and limit flexibility for some teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft solves the problem of delivering reliable, highly formatted, and embeddable reporting from complex data sources, which benefits me by enabling the creation of pixel-perfect, production-ready reports (such as invoices, statements, and compliance documents) that integrate seamlessly into applications, support diverse data sources, and provide consistent, scalable reporting without having to build and maintain a custom reporting engine from scratch.

I would like to highlight Jaspersoft’s flexibility and robust reporting capabilities, particularly following our recent upgrade from version 8.0.3 to 9.0.0. This upgrade introduces significant security enhancements, performance improvements, new features, and a redesigned user interface. These updates allow us to fully leverage a modernized layout, improved navigation, and enhanced usability for end users.
Jaspersoft continues to support complex, highly customizable reports across multiple data sources. Key features such as multi-tenancy and report scheduling significantly streamline operations and enable efficient report automation. In addition, functionalities like multi-select options and the ability to show or hide files within reports have been well received by our customers, enabling faster report usage and customization.
Overall, these enhancements and the platform’s adaptability make Jaspersoft a more user-friendly and effective reporting solution.

Query execution and report generation times tend to increase significantly, and overall performance may lag behind in-memory analytics platforms such as Power BI or Qlik. Furthermore, scheduling high volumes of reports can place considerable strain on server resources if not carefully configured.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is the ability to design custom reports using Jaspersoft Studio with dynamic parameters and expressions. It integrates well into Java applications and supports fine-grained control over layout and data formatting.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jaspersoft is powerful, the learning curve can be steep, especially when working with complex report designs or custom expressions in JasperReports. The UI in Jaspersoft Studio can also feel a bit outdated and occasionally slow, particularly with larger templates. Additionally, debugging issues in report rendering isn’t always straightforward

Jaspersoft helps solve the challenge of generating dynamic, data-driven reports from various sources in a highly customizable format. It allows us to automate report creation, reduce manual effort, and deliver professional, multi-format outputs (PDF, Excel, HTML) to stakeholders. Overall, the UI and UX needs a refresh and dashboarding capabilities can be made better but maybe the UI refresh may help
While executing a report multiple times it consumes more memory of server leading to slowness in report rendering.
Also the fact that there does not seem to be queuing for scheduled jobs which are executed at same time and it hangs the server

We use Jaspersoft for letting customers build their own reports with the data we have exposed

Experienced good support from Jaspersoft analysts. Reports are highly customizable and supports many formats with good control of layout and data presentation
What do you dislike about the product?
As a Product owner, it is less intuitive than some other reports available in the market, and has a bit of learning curve. The UI could be better and more modern.

Jasper provides customer query feature which helps us to build our own query and another good feature is filter option both solves many problem from user point of view
Automates Reporting with Ease but Needs Data Handling Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Jaspersoft is how easily it automates most of our reporting. We are able to build new ad hoc reports or custom reports through domains, and the permission system works very well. Based on profile attributes, we can show saved reports as public or private, and the same applies for custom reports too.
We use Jaspersoft to generate PDF, CSV, and XLSX files, and once the schedule is created, everything is automatically sent by email or SFTP without any manual work. I also appreciate that the exported files come out clean and that we can reuse the same templates whenever needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
When working with very large datasets, performance can slow down, and rendering takes noticeably longer. Sometimes we also run into row-limit issues. I also feel the UI could use an updated design—it works fine but does look a little outdated.

I use Jaspersoft for generating PDF, CSV, and XLSX reports and scheduling them. It saves us time by automating reports and sending them via email and FTP. Once set up, reports generate automatically, which is really helpful and makes our daily and monthly reporting efficient.
