Great Business Product!
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the fact that initial setup takes all of 10-15 minutes - and renewals couldn't be easier. If you choose to move to new hardware at renewal time, you can also dump your current config and re-upload it to your new hardware. Saving you hours of time in configuration
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the cost of re-licensing every three years. It's close enough to purchasing a new device that we generally always buy new hardware when a license is about to expire
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Watchguard Firewalls are doing multiple things for us - network security, DHCP leases, web blocking functionality, allowing remote workers via SSL VPN, branch office tunnels for communication between buildings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great value for the product received - and it does everything I need it to! Has a software-based management software or can utilize a web-GUI to set up and maintain the device.
WatchGuard is a solid product for security and support has been very knowledgeable and helpful.
What do you like best about the product?
We feel like our network is very secure with these products protecting it. Support is very knowledgeable and quick to help find solutions. Ease of creating VPN tunnels within WSM.
What do you dislike about the product?
We struggle with the WSM if the device is not cleaning removed but have found a few work arounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use these devices to secure our main offices as well as our job sites so we can create VPN tunnels for use with our VOIP system.
Excellent quality/price
What do you like best about the product?
SSL VPN. The ease of connecting to the VPN.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. I don't have any functionality that causes us problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cybersecurity. Reduce cybersecurity threats by using a VPN.
WatchGuard: superb network security
What do you like best about the product?
We've used WatchGuard products for 14 years in our organisation. Including multiple rack-mount and desktop Firebox devices and WiFi APs. The best thing about them is reliability. You can trust them to do the job and keep your network secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle to think of a meaningful negative. Perhaps the WSM client app could do with a UI refresh ... but that's not a serious negative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our main and branch office sites use WatchGuard Fireboxes and we use BOVPN to connect all our sites. They provide reliable network security with very little admin overhead which has been a huge benefit to us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buy with confidence - easy to configure and maintain these devices provide maxium security with minimal admin overhead.
Best firewall I've used
What do you like best about the product?
Watchguard has the easiest GUI and process for setting up a secure network. Any questions I have had about configuring they have been more than helpful and have not only helped by answering questions but have even remoted on and walked through the process with me while explaining it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not had any issues with Watchguard themselves; any issues were with my re-seller.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Watchguard Provides an Easy to Use, configure, and understand solution for network security. They also offer an easy-to-setup Mobile VPN and 2 Factor Authentication to add on as well.
Watchguard offers the best balance of security, performance and competitive pricing in the industry.
What do you like best about the product?
The web interface is the easiest to train new firewall techs on. We also like the fact that the box is bright red so customers can find it if it needs to be restarted.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the UTM expires, the firewall becomes unusable until it is renewed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The UTM services work fast and cost very little bandwidth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watchguard is a clear choice when comparing to Cisco, Fortinet and others. You get a whole lot more security and performance for the money.
Good firewall, good service, nothing to envy to more expensive solutions.

Features, stability, customer support, and all of this for the best cost possible with outstanding throughput cost relation compared with its competitors.

I can't think of something I don't like from WatchGuard. I'm pleased with the solution.

We are securing all of our VLANs. Internet surfing with DNS security. UTM. Antimalware. Integrated with AD. Services publishing. SSL VPN for providers and employees. SDWAN. Multifactor Authentication, etc.
The benefit is that with much less investment than other brands, we are applying a high level of security to our network, supporting all of our traffic, internal and external.

Don't think about brands; all of them are doing security. Compare throughput and cost, try Watchguard, then decide.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the speed of the appliances, the reliability, features they provide.
Easy of management , simplicity of configuration by the classical web interface and a more powerfull dedicated program WSM

Watchguard helped us to protect Customers Internal Networks, their mail server from spam and filter the websites allowed for browsing

Apply for a demo or trial period, so you can fully evaluate the power of the products.
Understandable support...
What do you like best about the product?
With current business climate service providers are always looking for revenue growth and cost reductions. Some like Watchguard recognize that without the existing customer every month starts at zero(0). When I call for support, I don't need another obstacle to the solution. I am not only assured that I will connect with a good communicator (clearly spoken and understandable in my language) but that the rep I'm talking with actually listens and understands their product enough to know of a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to have more video demos of install/configurations, but with the support that is available that is a minor inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have seen improvements in network performance with directly addressing prioritized traffic through policy based rules.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Intuitive for the most part once logged in. Very important to understand the differing logins and which is applicable to what (I had problems and still struggle with this from time to time)
Very powerful, yet simple administration router/firewalls

It is a very intuitive GUI interface and simple to learn. Very easy to make changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Much easier than most counterparts, so it makes the others challenging to use after using WatchGuard for so long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We switched to using WatchGuard in all our branches several years back. It has made centralization of our infrastructure immensly quicker and easier.

I highly recommend WatchGuard as your infrastructure backbone. I have been pleased with them for a decade now.
