A Stable, Developer-Friendly OS That Just Works

  • October 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is my go-to development environment because of how lightweight, stable, and customizable it is. I love that everything I need as a developer — Git, Docker, Node, Python, etc. — installs effortlessly through the terminal. The package management with APT is clean, and updates rarely break anything. It also runs well on older hardware, which makes it perfect for testing different setups. The community support is another big plus — you can find a solution to almost any issue within minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren’t many complaints, but sometimes driver compatibility (especially for graphics) still takes extra setup time. A few minor UI bugs pop up after big updates, and occasional packages lag behind the latest versions. Nothing deal-breaking, though — it’s still one of the most reliable Linux distributions for daily development work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu gives me a consistent, stable environment for coding, testing, and deploying projects. It eliminates the dependency headaches I used to face on other operating systems. I use it for containerized development, automation scripts, and local testing — all without performance issues. It’s made my workflow faster, cleaner, and more efficient, especially when working across different languages and frameworks.

  • October 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Ubuntu is its simplicity, stability, and versatility. It’s incredibly easy to use, especially for a Linux-based system, with a clean interface and straightforward package management through tools like APT and Snap. Installation is quick and well-documented, making setup smooth for both beginners and advanced users. Ubuntu offers a wide range of features and strong community support, ensuring that help and updates are always accessible. It’s lightweight yet powerful, running efficiently on older hardware while also supporting modern enterprise needs. Integration with cloud services and development tools is seamless, making it a great choice for servers, developers, and everyday desktop users alike.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Ubuntu is excellent overall, some updates can break compatibility with older drivers or software, especially after major version upgrades. The Snap package system, though convenient, can feel slower and less consistent compared to traditional apt installs. Also, for power users, the default configurations can feel restrictive, requiring extra tweaking to optimize for advanced use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problem: Many users need a reliable OS without expensive licensing fees.
Solution: Ubuntu is completely free and open source, with long-term support (LTS) releases providing years of security updates.
Benefit: Users and organizations save money while enjoying a stable and secure system for both desktops and servers.
