Linux operating system with GUI
What do you like best about the product?
I remember back in the early days when they used to send out free Ubuntu CD-ROMs. If you signed up, they would ship them to you, and I kept mine for several years. The live version of Ubuntu is fantastic—I could run it from a USB drive, CD-ROM, and other media. It provided almost everything I needed for daily tasks. For many people, Linux can seem intimidating, especially since some distributions just present a black screen with a blinking cursor for command input. However, Ubuntu comes with a user-friendly GUI right from the start. I've also run Ubuntu in VirtualBox and VMware, and it performed well, especially since it doesn't require as many system resources as Windows. On a few occasions, I've used it on web servers, and it handled the job nicely. While it may not be perfect, it certainly did a great job for my needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not complaining, but I have noticed a few issues with Ubuntu. There is limited support for games, occasional difficulties with software packages, and sometimes complications with drivers for certain devices. Although the community support is excellent and you can usually find solutions to most problems, I sometimes feel that the learning curve can be quite steep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu provides excellent support for its operating system, particularly through what I believe is called LTS (Long-Term Support). This means that their releases receive updates and support for an extended period, allowing them to remain usable on computers for many years. Back when I was younger, if a computer struggled to run Windows, I would install Ubuntu to give the old machine new life and keep it running smoothly. Since Ubuntu is based on Linux, it is less frequently affected by security issues compared to Windows, largely due to the difference in user base size. While security problems can still occur, they tend to be addressed and patched quickly.

Ubuntu is simple to use for daily work, and setting up Ubuntu is fast and hassle-free. Community support is always helpful and quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some popular software and games are not available for Ubuntu, and hardware support can be limited for certain devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, Ubuntu is easy to use and helps me do my daily tasks without any problems like coding. development.
Ubuntu keeps my workflow smooth across WSL, VMs, and my Hetzner server
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is at the heart of my setup: I use it as WSL on my Windows machine, in virtual machines with Hyper-V, and as the OS on my Hetzner server where it runs CyberPanel. That’s where my private hosting for WordPress sites lives, and it's stable, lightweight, and always gets the job done. Updates and package management are easy, and whether I’m scripting, developing, or managing web hosting, Ubuntu is there. Having a full Linux environment available everywhere I work is a game changer for productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I can’t find any serious downsides. Ubuntu works the way I expect, and both local setups and server installations have been reliable across the board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu gives me the flexibility to handle scripting, automation, and development the way I want, right inside Windows, in virtual machines, or on my Hetzner hosting stack. Managing CyberPanel and my WordPress sites privately lets me stay in control, and Ubuntu keeps everything running smoothly no matter where it's deployed.
