Utilized Ubuntu Servers for deployment of our Backend Applications

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of setup and installation of open source and secure Linux Operating System on the servers. The deployment process was fast and smooth and the integration of server health and status monitoring services was very easy. The security patches and bug fixes are available at regular intervals to reduce the risk. It provided us the freedom to manage things on our own with community-driven support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the deployments are suppose to happen through scripts but the availability of a good UI to make things fast and better would have been a plus. Sometimes the Patches when deployed leads to applications malfunction and glitch as the version of libraries in the application do not match with the version of OS provided due to which we have to test the patch multiple times in a lower environment before deploying it to the production server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu Server is helping to deploy industry-level applications to the servers with the help of an open-source Operating System. They are helping in reducing costs and providing secure and updated frameworks for application deployment.

Best open source opreating system for tech savvy people

  • August 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Ubuntu is still a open source opreating system and free to use. Secondly it is very light os and required minimal hardware requirement to run. Most importantly it is much better from the security point of you. for IT professonals, web developer it is best platform to work who loved to work with commandline instead of GUI like windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still all the software are not available for ubuntu that is the minus point and you have to be familiar to Linux commands to make smooth working. And some software like photoshop can't be used on ubuntu. Execpt these issue it is best opreating system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In an It company choosing ubuntu cut the very large cost on windows licence and it helped us to create a secure environment due to its valid and good security policies and also get rid it of from many virus attack on computers.

An OS that can run on minimum hardware requirements

  • August 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about ubuntu-desktop is
- need minimum RAM and storage
- less bootup speed
- no bloatware
- great community support
- there is no need to pay any type of license fee as it is opensource
- all the opensource applications are supported
What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides of ubuntu-desktop are
- sometimes the OS is stuck while booting up and have to restart forcefully
- that it is not game friendly os, many games are supported but still most of them are not supported
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most and foremost problem ubuntu-desktop solves is that we don't need to purchase license and it is free and open source. It can give a new life to an old system laptop that cannot run windows properly. Ubuntu desktop will run smoothly on an old system.

Ubuntu Server from a VPS perspective

  • August 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of setup.
Tons of available software.
Huge community support.
Ready to use server stacks.
The majority of the big players support Ubuntu out of the box.
Good security.
Regular updates and patches.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few issues like broken pipe that happens when we connect. There should be an easy way to resolve this OR there should be good documentation to resolve this.
Ubuntu should release customisable images for LAMP stack for python stack and for Java stack so that we get a minimal OS compared to a bloated one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A robust scalable server that we can rely on for our hosting needs.
A good computation box.
A secure environment to host our websites and webapps.
A complete solution for hosting needs.

Powerfully versatile

  • August 08, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Combine the usability of a good interface, and being able to manage things from the console with all the versatility that Linux can offer as an OS. That you can be managing a server, a laptop or a desktop without noticing the difference.
What do you dislike about the product?
Office automation programs are very limited compared to those with a proprietary license. More robust programs are needed in this sense so that the OS can be used more widely in the business world.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is much safer than other operating systems because there are no viruses that overshadow its performance. In addition, it is much safer in terms of information consistency and access.
