What do you like best about the product?
I started using ubuntu for my education needs. But now, it became my preferred operating system. The reason I love ubuntu is its flexibility. It would be easy for you to understand the usability if I list how I configured my machine with the operating system. Here are some: I have implemented cron jobs to automatically download movies in the nighttime (using the night data), I have implemented app indicators to access my day-to-day resources, etc. Apart from these programming-related things, I have to admit that using ubuntu is pretty straightforward. We don't need to worry about viruses and all. The UI also direct and excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I wish ubuntu could have is support gaming as windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a software engineer. I find it very easy to develop applications with Ubuntu. Debugging and developing are very easy, and we have a lot of control over the operating system.

What do you like best about the product?
First of all, people say that Linux is a complicated operating system. After using Ubuntu, I feel that that's a misconception. Ubuntu is straightforward to use & looks & feels almost like macOS or Windows OS.

The second thing that I love about Ubuntu is how efficient an operating system it is. I have used it on as low as 2GB of RAM & as high as 32GB of RAM. Surprisingly, it worked flawlessly on both.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as of now. There is rarely anything that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Ubuntu for five years as my primary operating system for office & personal use.

What do you like best about the product?
It is compatible with different hardware, such as ARM platforms, Intel-based microprocessors, etc. It is very good to use the same operating system on different platforms. It increases the speed of usage for the user as like me. I am using Ubuntu in my professional life.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I dislike about Ubuntu is the compatibility of all programs in the digital world. Approximately all the computer-based platforms are coded mainly for the Windows platform, especially some massive programs like COMSOL Multiphysics, AutoCAD, 3Dmax, etc. Therefore, from time to time, the users should switch Windows OS in order to use some programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to use all performance of the driver's thanks to its well-written kernel and well-designed architecture. It is a very good operating system, especially for developers. As an engineer, I am using Ubuntu in my professional and personal life.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a developer or an engineer, you can easily use this operating system instead of others. Especially, the engineers or developers in the software part should you this OS in order to develop their business.

Simple, Elegant and Free

  • June 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The User Interface is very good for those who are moving from a different Operating system. There are not a lot of things on the GUI for basic users. Still the advanced users can go beyond the professional level. I have used the system for Android development as well my office work. Both were smooth and almost all the applications I need for the work purposes are already there. So for me, it was easy to switch just by installing relevant browsers and applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application Eco system can be improved with quality apps. The leading apps I am missing are Adobe and Microsoft. They are almost irreplaceable even though we have LibreOffice and GIMP. Ubuntu Software application store should go beyond this basic setup. It should be like Play Store where we should be getting all the application for the device in a single place and no need to go through the trouble of manual installation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource allocation is much better and can be used with low-power devices which are older. I have a device that is just Pentium dual-core and the applications still ran smoothly. Having an SSD will boost the overall experience with the OS. For Office and work purposes as well as personal purposes, I used Ubuntu for a long time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The way Ubuntu Team works even though they are providing the software for free is an admirable work. I suggest other software follo the same path to acheive this. Ubuntu should be the primary consideration if you are looking to use an operating that is desirable for both Personal and work purposes.
