Ubuntu, Linux for humans
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is a great introduction into the space of Linux. It has a robust community and an easy to setup and use system. You can also use many different Desktop Environments so the OS suites your tastes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is open source and so it has some hiccups with brand new hardware. You must force the kernel to update to recognize some hardware.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting our imaging server and a few other utility servers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to read the documentation and listen to the community when you need support. There is a lot of great help out there.
Love Ubuntu!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of Ubuntu. It is easy to use from the terminal and easy to use from the GUI. It runs pretty much everything we need to administrate our servers, I think its the industry standard for servers
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu is not very user-friendly as other operating systems like windows is, especially for beginners they have to struggle a lot to get a habit of it, installing any software in Ubuntu is not just a double-click thing it could be a headache for those wanting to use it as a operating system at home
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is our servers primary OS
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may have a bit of a learning curve coming from Windows. Stick with it, Ubuntu is brilliant and the community is really supportive. After a bit you will wonder why you ever though it was a challenge.
Fully secure operating system
What do you like best about the product?
Safety is one of the factors that drive any ubuntu user to choose it. It's lightweight, very editable, and great for us programmers, as we can do everything through the terminal. I am programmer C and can program and compile my codes through GCC in the Linux terminal
What do you dislike about the product?
On the other hand, using Ubuntu deprives us of some things we could do on windows, for example. Some applications are not yet compatible with Linux, some games are not. Working with RPA and all leading market tools do not work on Linux distributions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is an open source operating system, so many companies, including my own, end up opting to use it, since operating system licenses can be expensive. Security is another important factor in getting us to use ubuntu in our company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is a very secure open source operating system, ideal for use by programmers, since it is possible to program directly through the Linux terminal
Ubuntu - As awesome OS
What do you like best about the product?
I am a developer and Ubuntu is an awesome platform for me. It is very easy to install new softwares and tools, through the command line interface a.k.a terminal. It is exactly to the point, and you can expect to get things done really quickly provided you know the right commands.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is still growing, I would say it is mature enough, but for some it may still be a bit of a setback. Running windows softwares could sometimes be painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used for some machine learning and AI algorithms,
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth a try. If you need something that gets the work done and enjoy working on a terminal instead of a graphical user interface, Ubuntu is a nice option. It definitely is one of the best-operating systems ever.
One of the Best Distros
What do you like best about the product?
It is lightweight with a lot of good functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all popular applications are available on ubunutu.

I have used ubuntu as a daily OS. It is easy to use and the most important part it does not hang or take a lot of time for booting up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would Highly recommend anyone to use Ubuntu.
Familiar and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
If you're familiar with Mac operating systems, you'll have no issues using an Ubuntu OS. It's also faster, and you can easily develop your software with little to no issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're unfamiliar with Mac OS, you might have a bit of difficulty learning how to use Ubuntu. The UI is much more simplified than a PC, so having to click less than you're used to might be a bit of a challenge!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu to connect to Bash and manage my files using GitHub.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of Ubuntu. It is easy to use from the terminal and easy to use from the GUI. It runs pretty much everything I need to work (hey, even Steam have a lot of AAA games running on it now).
I even like the odd glitches that arise and the ensuing delves into stack overflow to try and fine some arcane fix for them.
I even like the odd glitches that arise and the ensuing delves into stack overflow to try and fine some arcane fix for them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess the reduced availability of games is a downside (though that is changing - see comment re Steam); for the time being I will be sticking to my Windows gaming rig for that.

Easier for dev work as all our services run on Linux servers, also has less compatibility issues with a lot of dev tools when compared to Windows.
