Launchdarkly has helped our team launch and scale new features to millions of users worldwide

  • September 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use. How well it integrates with both our front end and backend systems to help us control feature rollouts. The rules and variations are also a granular controls, which is a must for our use case
What do you dislike about the product?
The recent UI refresh feels less user friendly, has hidden away easily accessed controls. I really miss the easy switch between the rules, variations, experiments and insights tab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a platform that caters to millions of users across continens. Launching a new feature is a big task especially considering our scale, sometimes we need to do it for only a particular country or app versions due to backword compatibility issues. LD helps us immensely with granular controls of our feature rollouts with easy fallbacks and peace of mind with deployments.

Product Manager Perspective

What do you like best about the product?
As a PM, I LOVE that our team can release new work behind feature flags. It is helpful for targeted releases and for rolling things back (when needed). We have also LaunchDarkly to offer customizations for strategic accounts with little/no code, confirming the value before building out full-featured preference settings. We also use A/B testing to see which icons/messages resonate most with our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about LaunchDarkly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use LaunchDarkly to manage features - I love that we can release something in a production environment but only to QA/Demo accounts before turning it on for our customers.

What do you like best about the product?
You can easily configure the feature flag for several environments. Implement custom triggers for it. We're using the LaunchDarkly feature flags almoust in each of our projects in various ways. Our Day-to-day assistant.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes required to create a fasade between the driver from a lib to a existing project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast and easy feature switch for the customers

Every tech org needs LaunchDarkly

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly has transformed our development process, allowing us to decouple feature releases from code deployments. With powerful feature flag management, we can easily toggle features on and off, target specific user segments, and gather feedback without risk.

The platform integrates seamlessly with our tech stack, and the user-friendly interface makes it simple for both technical and non-technical team members to manage releases. LaunchDarkly has enabled us to release features faster, with more confidence, and fewer risks. A must-have for any agile team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was hard to use initially, but once we got the hang of it, we were fine!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing features without all the risks to our customer base.

Deploying faster with Launchdarkly

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a backe-end developer, LaunchDarkly has increased the confidence and cadence of my deployments as I know rely on flags to easily preserve the old code while making sure that the rollback is a matter of a click. This has helped me a lot, specially for legacy code migrations, where all phases need to happen cautiously. Didn't know of the existance of migration flags when doing the first one, now I willing to try it out (docs are also grea)
What do you dislike about the product?
New UI could make navigation for a flag through the environments confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster deployments for new features and that it makes easier to test different scenarios within the different environments, increasing confidence in my deployments

Easy to Use, Saves a lot of Headache When Business Requirements Change

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to launch a product in every evironement seperately has been a game changer. Sometimes you know things are going to change so you can make a LD flag. Then shut the new feature off or redirect traffic to the old URL with a click of a button. My team was able to launch a new frontend to production and shut it off when we saw a minor error and turn it off until we could get if fixed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have never had an issue. It's inuitive and thus makes it easy to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When tranferring to a new URL or deploying a high risk feature in production it makes production deployment a lot less stressful having a LaunchDarkly flag. My team has shut off a flag, ship a hot fix build to production, and turn the flag on again making CI/CD easier.

Excellent tool for feature flags and A/B testing

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive the new UI is. Furthermore the use of multiple environemnts and when each feature flag was last called is really usefull.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing for the Foundation package could be slightly lower per service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly is currently helping to ship features to production and only enable them to certain users or after a specified release date. Additionally if something is not working properly we can quickly disable the feature without the need for extra deployment.
