Hootsuite: The Go-To Tool I Rely On to Keep My Social Media Strategy Running Smoothly.
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is the answer to this chaos and juggle of many social media accounts. It schedule posts across multi-channel, observe real-time engagement, and quickly identify trends without flipping across various applications. It’s more like the control room where you get all the right information for on-the-go changes on campaigns … that is the analytics dashboard. Quick to respond; their customer support helped every time I was struggling to set up advanced tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more advanced features of Hootsuite are relegated to higher-tier plans, which proves irksome when you only need one or two of those tools. The interface, although robust, can be quite intimidating for new team members at first. I sometimes experience a delay in post publishing and end up double-checking my scheduled content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I save hours every week due to Hootsuite that I used to spend logging in manually and posting on different platforms. Brand mentions, competitor activity as well as performance measurement all can be done in one place—making the reporting to the clients much more credible and professional. Unlike juggling various tools like Buffer and Sprout Social, Hootsuite offers me that control over all aspects which is required for keeping my social strategy sharp and consistent in one place.
Excellent Scheduling Tool with Minor Connectivity Annoyances
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Hootsuite's ease of use, which has kept me loyal despite trying other platforms. Scheduling multiple social media posts simultaneously is invaluable, providing a comprehensive view of our messaging. The calendar management is outstanding, and I've found its user-friendly setup to be smooth, aside from occasional channel disconnections.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the uncoupling of social media channels annoying, as I often discover disconnections only after logging into Hootsuite, which can sometimes lead to notifications being sent to my clients instead of me. Additionally, I wish Hootsuite had an easier way to search for specific posts in the calendar. Currently, I have to check my personal calendar to find when a post was made and then manually search for it in Hootsuite, which is time-consuming. Furthermore, the inability to post directly to personal pages is a limitation, especially for clients who might benefit from this feature. Also, the AI content writing tool is not consistently better than my own writing, making it unreliable. Finally, it would be beneficial if Hootsuite made it more obvious and efficient to post directly to personal Facebook pages, which could help manage social media more effectively for a broader range of clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite allows me to schedule multiple social media posts efficiently, providing a comprehensive overview of messaging. Despite occasional disconnections, it's a helpful tool for managing social media presence, although I wish for better search functionality within the calendar feature.
Why I spend all day raving about Hootsuite:
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is excellent for pretty much ALL aspects of social media management, even on lower tier plans. Personally, my team uses the non-profit plan - which btw Hootsuite discounts its services tremendously for non-profits- kinda amazing right?
Anyways, even though we're on a lower tier plan, we still have access to amazing features such as comments on drafts, social listening tools, Owly GPT 😍, inbox 2.0, and a plethora of analytics features!!
Which on that note - the analytics are unmatched and super easy to get used to. The notes feature also makes it really easy to summarize results for higher-ups who may not want to view all the metrics or may miss key points relating to the data.
I could rave about Hootsuite all day (clearly), but, if I had to sum it up.
1. Social Listening (especially via Owly GPT)
2. Inbox 2.0 - makes inbox management a breeze and the user notes feature, resolve, and assigning features are amazing!
3. Easy to use analytics and really helpful for making analytics easy to consume and digest for not only you but stakeholders!

What do you dislike about the product?
Perhaps the only downside to Hootsuite could be the price-point and tiering for some features. For instance, my plan does my lack the official approval feature - which I think for any SMM reporting to someone it would be super convenient.
That being said I can't complain too much because our plan is discounted tremendously and for that I am grateful!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me effectively manage social media as a team of 1. It covers: Scheduling, inbox management, customer service, social listening, content brainstorming, analytics & reporting, & more!
Prior to Hootsuite I struggled to manage our inbox, make analytics easier for management, utilize social listening, and set up approvals.
It's made our Social media growth easier and made me and my bosses' life easier!

My Go-To for social media scheduling & analytics reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I use Hootsuite every single day for my job and it could not be easier to use. Once you connect your social media accounts, you can create and schedule posts directly through Hootsuite. Their AI features recently implemented are also great if you're stuck on what to write for your posts. You can get social media reports to track your growth in just a few clicks and customize them to each platform or overall performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only negative is how often I have to reconnect your social media accounts to Hootsuite but that's more likely on the social account's end and not Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite's analytics reporting really helps me figure out what platforms need more attention, and each feature that's been added on over the years has only made it more useful.
Easy enough for a beginner

What do you like best about the product?
As a content manager with ADHD, I am so grateful to have a software that's uncluttered, easy-to-use, and helps me manage my time and projects. Seriously, I use it everyday for posting and scheduling on multiple platforms. Also, the Hootsuite blog and resources? So helpful and amazing. I cannot recommend it enough!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still figuring out how to best integrate the analytics tools for each of my platforms.

Hootsuite Review – A Global Citizenship Network’s Perspective
What do you like best about the product?
As a global network like the Melton Foundation, managing communications across continents, cultures, and time zones requires more than just content scheduling—it needs coordination, consistency, and clarity. Hootsuite has been a valuable tool in streamlining how we manage social media for our global programs and local hubs.
The platform allows us to centralize content planning for events like the Global Citizenship Convention or programmatic campaigns for the Global Solvers Accelerator and Learning Program. Its collaborative features enable our geographically dispersed teams—Senior Fellows, Junior Fellows, and staff—to co-create, schedule, and review posts with ease, ensuring our messaging is aligned globally while also giving space for local narratives.
The real-time monitoring tools help us stay responsive to global conversations, while analytics allow us to reflect on what resonates across different regions. However, as a growing network, we would benefit from more flexible workflows within Hootsuite—especially for multi-layered approval processes and content variations for diverse cultural contexts.
Overall, Hootsuite has been instrumental in helping us scale our communications without losing the human touch that is core to our mission of nurturing global citizenship.

Cons of Hootsuite for a Global Citizenship Network like Melton Foundation:
Limited Workflow Flexibility for Large, Diverse Teams
Approval workflows and team roles can feel rigid, especially when collaborating across multiple hubs, fellows, and staff who need varying levels of access and editorial input.
Content Customization Across Regions is Manual
For a network that needs to localize posts (language, tone, hashtags) for different cultural contexts, Hootsuite lacks an efficient way to manage regional content variations within a single campaign workflow.
Analytics Dashboard Could Offer Deeper Cross-Platform Insights
While Hootsuite provides basic engagement metrics, for impact-driven storytelling, we often need more granular insights across platforms (like audience sentiment or regional reach), which require external tools.
AI Suggestions Are Still Basic
Content optimization tools (captions, hashtags, best time to post) could be more adaptive, especially to align with the unique, cause-driven narratives we share around global citizenship.
Pricing Tiers Can Be Restrictive for Nonprofits
For growing nonprofit networks, accessing advanced features (like team collaboration seats or advanced analytics) can be cost-prohibitive without nonprofit-specific pricing flexibility.
