Contenful is great for building web pages and store content libraries
What do you like best about the product?
Contentful is very easy to use and understand, even if you have never used it before. It gives the ability to customize and save templates, so every simple and specific action can be done in just a couple of minutes. Besides, it has a high level of flexibility, so you can structure your data in any way you want and it is a secured platform, counting with a very reliable system of verification and control of input entries.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, I have never encountered an issue with Contentful. Maybe it’s because I use it only for some basic activities, which are done quickly by using the templates. However, some of my colleagues have told me its biggest issue has to do with integration, because it doesn’t support many solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my organization, Contentful is used across several departments, but it is specially deployed in the Marketing Department for building web pages and store content libraries. Before Contentful was purchased by my company, the backlog of development had to be done manually, taking a lot of time and effort for the team. Now it can be completely done in a couple of minutes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Contentful is the proper content management tool. I would recommend it for companies or personals with a decent amount of data to manage. If you need to handle large size data, you may need another software as Contentful is more suited for simple actions. Also, I would recommend it for WordPress users, as the UI is very similar, so you will learn it very quickly.
Great flexibility and value, odd at first
What do you like best about the product?
Model creation with the available wide variety of field types is great.
The basic Markdown text field editor covers lots of use cases.
Resizing images by just adding optional query parameters to the URL is magic.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Contentful content model is flexible, I'd even say too flexible for a simple paged website. It takes a while to grasp the Contentful-way of thinking about content. Not being able to categorize Models hurts in discoverability and creates a mess that can only be salvaged by namespacing them (e.g. "Page - Home ", "Page - About ") and then filtering ("Save as view" helps a lot here).
It doesn't seem as easy to edit for laypeople as say WordPress, but I can't back that up.
Multilanguage editing view could be improved I feel, displaying all languages at once can be overwhelming.

Take a while to read the documentation regarding content modelling and think through your content architecture carefully.
Flexible, feature-rich development tool
What do you like best about the product?
Contentful has a really nice ecosystem of SDKs, APIs and associated tools to support integration, automation and developer experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a good deal of documentation available online, but it's somewhat difficult to navigate & fragmented (developer portal, API reference, forum, etc.) Docs could do with some tidying up & iA oversight.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to augment content metadata published from an inflexible master system of record without the overhead of having to introduce a 'heavyweight' CMS. We can leverage Contentful's management API to push update messages to Contentful, have content editors apply metadata updates, and then leverage Contentful's rich webhook integration options to push updates to a production cache of content metadata.

The fact you can use the software easily with tutorials in case you need help getting started.
What do you dislike about the product?
There wasn't much to dislike from this software. The software makes it simple for beginners who never had experience in website building.

API Newbie to Expert
What do you like best about the product?
Very clear and straightforward. At first I didn’t know what an API is, but now I’m a pro at delivering content to all of my devices, such as my iPhone, which is what I am using now, and my Windows computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup process was a bit tedious and hard for me to understand. I wasn’t sure about where the app/software was on my devices once I installed it. I had to Google my issue to solve it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had an issue delivering content to people’s devices for the last superbowl and clients were super angry. Now I’ve figured out a way to do so for the next time around.
Great tool with its limitations
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create any content just using drag-drop feature and easy text editing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the best tool to make an integration with Cloud systems, such as AWS or Salesforce. It requires additional tools for the integration

It helped me to build web-sites without adding much effort. Content of the web-site was clean and neat. I would say it is a great tool for the businesses with minimum number of developers

The possibility to create a content dedicated to my exigence and to grow up the business when I need to receive more visibility
Easy to use cloud platform- Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
The software was very quick to implement and get off the ground running quickly. We were demoing within the first week of use. The cloud-based platform is crucial to having our team members access and publish remotely. Loads quickly, and the API is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Image uploading can be painful and requires it to be done one by one manually. Home page could be more useful, but it's a minor ocmplaint

We are trying to use Contentful for our hospital PR content management with public out reach.

Speak with the customer service team with any questions - they are very responsive and helpful.

We host multiple websites of our clients, and the structures and whole content we use for those websites are now managed by contentful. This is the piece of mind.
