Makes business roles more efficient
What do you like best about the product?
As someone with no formal computer science background, Retool is the best tool to allow business operations roles to build usable applications easily. Retool has many features and establishes a good roadmap that addresses evolving needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation can be unclear for some features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool allows applications to be built with no code which helps roles such as business operations be able to try out different workflows before involving an engineer.
Retool for Scale
What do you like best about the product?
Retool allows us to scale our processes to both technical and non-technical teams. The UI takes some getting used to, but once a basic level of understanding is acheived, there are a huge number of use cases to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit of a learning curve. Building apps as a non-technical user might be a bridge too far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scaling out processes that are mechanical turk-like in nature.
Fast and Reliable way to build internal tools
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple and easy to use. Everything is just drag and drop with a little Javascript and you will have your app running. Retool saved us a lot effort building our internal tools, simply focus on our business logic and Retool will handle the UI. We have automated a lot of internal tasks with the help of Retool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's a bit hard to debug from the software engineer point of view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Retool helps us automate the process of managing the orders in our fulfillment process. We also use Retool to build several dashboards as the internal interface for the warehouse operators to interact with underlying physical machines in our warehouse.
The only tool builder for internal uses that you should look for
What do you like best about the product?
Retool is a great tool for quickly building internal apps. It's really easy to use, and the version control feature is super handy for keeping everything organized. Plus, it has pretty much everything you need to get the job done.
What do you dislike about the product?
Retool has a few downsides to keep in mind. Debugging, especially for scripts, can be pretty tricky. The "Preview" button actually triggers the function, which can lead to unattended requests—something that’s not clear just from the name "preview." Also, it’s not the most user-friendly for non-tech folks, so they might find it a bit tough to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't need to spend time to build tools for internal users like customer supports.
Build dashboards and applications as easy as 1,2,3.
What do you like best about the product?
The power to build powerful applications with very little code. It's intuitive to use and with basic SQL you can do so many things.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a bit of a learning curve with setting up all connections to your companies APIs or resources, and then the UI is a bit strange. They recently updated it and I feel like everything is in the wrong place (too cluttered and hard to find what you need).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a technical Product Manager with skills in SQL and Javascript i can build powerful internal tools that would take our engineer team longer to build. They can use that time for more valuable features.
Retool is great for accelerating ideas

- Awesome component library
- Easily extendable with custom components
- Great granularity in access control management

What do you dislike about the product?
- A little bit pricey for medium/big companies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my company, we use Retool mostly for internal tooling. It's common to have use cases which needs to connect with many REST APIs, which would be very hard to explain and teach how to use to non-technical people. With Retool, this is just a 2-3 hour work: we have an idea, we understand the needs, then create an app on Retool, connecting with our staging and production environments very easily.
Great low code solution for internal tools
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create business processes with a visible front end and share it with stakeholders easily.
Implementation is quick as well as there is not need for excessive coding.

What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is steep, but the documentation is detailed. It took me a few tries before understanding how to use the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to create and work with a frontend has allowed me to share with stakeholders visually how to achieve key business processes.
A great tool for startups to quickly create internal tools to scale with
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to script almost anything within retool is really helpful. It means any business logic can be enforced within UIs or data handling without needing to necessarily involve engineers.
We can use REST and GraphQL calls as needed to quickly pull in the right data and quickly setup dashboards.
I use retool almost everyday.

What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit cumbersome at time with menus and trying to find how to configure certain add-ons to components.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Apply config in our product without having to build settings frontends.
2. Searching and reviewing transactional data without needing to jump into SQL queries.

Powerful UI tool for developers
What do you like best about the product?
Well designed both visually as well as technically. Intuitive design that makes sense to someone who is familiar with front-end development. Flexible enough to serve a wide range of needs, but rigid enough to ensure best practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's definitely a learning curve. Was super frustrating at first but after grinding through mistakes for a week, I got the hang of it and now I'm flying.
You can be non-technical but it's really helpful if you know how to code and understand front-end concepts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
