Very good product with Granular security policies and high detection
What do you like best about the product?
The most I like about proofpoint email security is that it is very granular when it comes to the policy configuration and high and accurate detection rate. We can utilize all the features like Sand-boxing, AV Scanning, SPAM protection, Information Protection and Encryption with a single product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall the product is very good and very rich of features. The only downside to me is that there should be more option and variety of different reports that we can run and present to the management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The detection rate has been improved and is more accurate now. Now we don't have any false positives, they are very less now. We have more granular controls now for policy and rules configuration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a very nice product with good and accurate detection capabilities. Very granular for policy configuration
Solve challenges regarding email security
What do you like best about the product?
The browser for email sent or received is quite comprehensive in Proofpoint. The rules for email can be programmed very interestingly and it allows for granular monitoring of upstream and downstream addresses. It makes sure that messages from our company are safe for our clients and confirm whether they come from stated private email messages. You may also mark emails in the body of the email with some sort of spam warning and explicitly send them to everyone accused of being spam.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the URL Filter function is good, it tends to hide the URL in any way it can be interpreted. The user interface is somewhat obsolete and still has plenty to change. Also, service management could be simplified more quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My whole business uses Proofpoint Email Security and Protection. Our Backend email service is Office 365 and it operates without any issues, this helps with many of the challenges regarding email security that we even didn't know about. Through our continuous learning, Proofpoint takes a great deal of deviation out of the process for our clients on how to look for questionable emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is an adequate solution for medium-sized companies, particularly where complex sorting is required. It will allow every agency to have its own email regulatory requirements, and ProofPoint can be very helpful to handle this tool. It will provide any organization with very strong inbound and incoming email streams.
A great defense toward spam
What do you like best about the product?
ProofPoint spam detection is very accurate, as it captures spam emails before they enter the mailbox. Also, it allows you to create a corporate blacklist of domains, SMTP accounts or a malicious IP. Also, when the servers are open, the mail instead spools, and users can sign in from outside to search the address. This is only one instance to insure that emails never are sent out in cleartext.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although its general performance is good, we get plenty of emails and still think some Proofpoint capacities are still lacking. I would like to be able to delegate in a more granular way the workers in the helpdesk. Also, it is almost impossible to decode connections once they are published by ProofPoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ProofPoint Email Security as our main defense toward spam and other privacy risks, to receive the external emails in our enterprise and for email persistence whether our internal exchange servers are down or not. As this is our primary email protection tool, it is used by all our clients. We wanted a service that could manage higher levels of email traffic and ProofPoint is one of the strongest email software products on the market right now. Also, it allows us to send safe mail to our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say that Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is definitely appropriate for small to medium-sized companies, as this is the right environment where I believe Proofpoint exalts the granularity.
Proofpoint prevents our customers from receiving unwanted e-mails
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection gives users a list of blocked emails and allows them to publish them when they are valid emails. Also, it provides URL Filtration, so the Proofpoint will rewrite URLs in email messages to a firewall site that doubles-checks URL if the user enters one. This way, it can identify and avoid approximately 99 percent of spam which is shown in available documents. Users can also decide if they want a disabled address or post it without IT assistance in their inbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, it is complicated to set up an interface path by multiple areas. If you search for addresses, the address looks weird on most occasions. Also, we can not retain mail for further than a week in the evacuated directory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is used in all our subsidiaries, although it is mainly handled by the IT department. In most cases, it prevents our customers from receiving unwanted emails and phishing scams. Proofpoint provides a good sorting mail that reduces the amount of cyber attacks and helps us to include certain exemptions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is suitable for small companies with only a few IT resources. If they integrate it with a cloud service provider, it will work just fine. However, if you don't receive too many emails, you could probably continue to avoid most bad messages in a small office while using Office365.
Defend your users from any threat that can be sent via email
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint allows users to send email blasts showing which emails have been captured in your spam. It makes easy to restrict or authorize machine communications. Since emails are transmitted by Proofpoint to a server, they may keep the email at one end if our servers are not accessible. Also, Proofpoint makes end-users able to publish their email, and also to get digests from end-users, to see every mail they receive. Spam detection is very good as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are several permits for items that should be licensed in order to make Proofpoint a better tool. Also, a single panel is required for controlling the specific products. This way, we could have more freedom when managing Proofpoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofpoint Email Security and Protection allows us to defend our users from malware, spoofed messages, phishing and any other threat that can be sent via email. We used to get loads of phishing emails until Proofpoint Email security was deployed. Now, I can ensure all of the possible phishing emails have ended. Also, we use it to monitor our incoming and outgoing emails in a highly granular way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I believe that, whether the industry, if your service or requires complex mail filtration, then Proofpoint Email Security and Protection is an important tool you should have. It offers a way to block spamming and undesired emails completely. However, I consider it is less suited for large companies, as it may have too much to handle.
Systems Admin for multiple enterprise systems (email, VM's, VOIP, etc)
What do you like best about the product?
This product has proven a helpful companion security tool with our O365 architecture. The web-based GUI is a huge welcome,a s well as the cloud-based service vs the on-prem product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cloud-based product is a bit unresponsive with some java-like fits when executing commands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ProofPoint is capable of catching some issues that O365 cannot detect.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ProofPoint can provide your organization an additional layer of protection to your existing infrastructure, giving the organization multiple tools to fight threats.
Dangerous times
What do you like best about the product?
Knock on wood, in the years we have been running ProofPoint, no serious threats have made it though.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the the GUI is hard to navigate. Non intuitive placement for some policy configuration, but you learn where to do the needful after you've administered it for a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Address re-writing is handy for Mergers and acquisitions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your O365 vs On prem road-map. Other Security platforms that are included in the price of O365 may lack key features for maintaining some hybrid on prem services.
Automating my day to day struggles
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint takes an agile approach to their product. With each piece of feedback, they improve their product to better defend against an ever changing threat landscape.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some no-brainer features like banner customization are not yet available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our click rate is down drastically. We are purging the threat before our end users realize it has hit their mailboxes.
Just works
What do you like best about the product?
I like the firewall policy mentality when it comes to managing mailfow.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be difficult figuring out where a message ended up it triggered multiple policies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Email Security to cleanse inbound and outbound email. I was surprised how much PII our users are attempting to send out.
The product is worth to invest.
What do you like best about the product?
it is pretty good on quarantine or discarded on spam and malware emails. Also, it provides individual users options to manage with their own safe and block list.
What do you dislike about the product?
it would be good to add the rest api capabilities. We would like to generate the report via rest api that we can present within our company portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Each day we are facing tons of spoof phishing email, Before Proofpoint, our company got flood of junk, phishing of emails. We spent a lot of times on helping users to identity and explain of risk of junk emails.
