The best Email and Spam protection
What do you like best about the product?
When there have been any instances of FPs that are reported, the PP support team has been the most helpful in resolving the issue right away. Also the product itself is dynamic and evolving with even the latest of the threats. Also I like the dynamic nature of the product have the cloud based approach with active monitoring or zero day threats which are identified and applied to the over PP community.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I have not encountered any situations to dislike the product as a whole. However, if the Smart Search feature is faster than it is today. I would appreciate it as we as an organization handle a more than a billion emails a year and to search for extreme large set of results takes time. But I would also think it matters how many servers that we employ. However, I would still appreciate if the Smart Search feature is faster than it is today.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we are using the PP Email Security and Protection as Edge server and it has been a great product so far.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product that has great product support along with amazing features of the Edge which is wholly based on Linux platform. Robust email threat protection and has cloud based approach which makes it even more powerful in handling possibly the zero day threats. The best in its class product which leverages the best in class methodologies to detect and prevent the spam with great anti spam filters along with content filters.
Ease of use, does it's job well.
What do you like best about the product?
-> The fact that it gets the job done, the spam filter works marvelously
-> Its ability to properly identify and categorize safe emails from bad ones
-> it is feature rich and contains sufficient integration with O365 and other cloud services

What do you dislike about the product?
-> The interface could be more modernized with more distinct colours and button placement
->More intuitiveness when interacting with the UI
-> The reporting feature is not as robust or intuitive as we would like it to be to give accurate and concise, information.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-> We are solving phishing, spoofed, spam and virus laced attachments in emails as ProofPoint does a great job at stopping or quarantining these issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
-> Know your users and their email habits, if they get mostly external emails configuring the policies to be flexible enough to keep them safe as also to ensure their work is not disrupted by a safe mail from external sender being deemed malicious and held for a long period of time especially if it is time sensitive.
six years and counting ...
What do you like best about the product?
The system is very thorough and complete. There are many options and configurations we can leverage to totally control how we utilize the system. The system has frequent updates. We experience few false positives. It just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Admin UI has been dreadfully slow since day 1 and got worse over the past few years. The Customer Support was touted as one of the best .. but I have had nothing but frustration when dealing with them - which thankfully is not often. I also think some of the add-on features feel like they were awkwardly attached or integrated into the core product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to protect our end users from the high volume of SPAM and malware. We also need to encrypt a small portion of the messages we handle. We have been able to accomplish both of these with Proofpoint.
Email Security
What do you like best about the product?
Email protection provides insight into our large enterprise and allows us to see where malicious campaigns are coming from.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had a mostly pleasant experience with Email protection thus far. We've not had it for a full year yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The amount of spam our users are receiving at their inbox has dropped dramatically.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great product
Complete email security package
What do you like best about the product?
I have been a customer for about 18 months and the amount of changes that have been made (for the better) are what impresses me the most.
The UI itself has had several updates to make it much cleaner and more usable to what it was even just 18 months ago. I am looking forward to what it looks like in the future.
As for features, I personally like the amount of end-user self service options there are. From email encryption to the end user digests. It can take the workload off an admin significantly, especially from an organisation that gets constant "are my emails blocked" requests.

What do you dislike about the product?
The price is obviously quite a high barrier for entry, I do understand that proofpoint is a leader in the industry but charging POD (on demand) customers for a separate log forwarding license I feel is quite unnecessary.
I also feel the DMARC option should be cheaper to aid adoption initially, I would absolutely love this feature but the price is very high.
Asides from the price, I would like to see the "saving" bar at the top moved to be more obvious. It is very easy to miss.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compared to our previous product, proofpoint is miles and miles ahead.
It has vastly increased our security and was the main reason only one attack vector in our annual pen test was successful (out of 6 attacks, only one got through and this was nothing to do with email!).

Recommendations to others considering the product:
The benefits we have gained from using proofpoint are numerous, increased security and visibility are among the top.
Effective Email protection getting even better over the years
What do you like best about the product?
The effectiveness of the product is best. Also the professional services guy was very helpful to set it all up. Using the product for several years showed it always improves
What do you dislike about the product?
After reporting a bug in an email firewall rule it takes too much tome to get resolved. Other reports were quicker, but this particular one is something we need as it filters email based on some dictionary words.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest threats is email. Proofpoint helps us protect our users and so our companies to prevent a lot of trouble. Having access to autopull, trap, warning tags, etc really delivers a safer feeling.
Protection level is very high.
What do you like best about the product?
Protection level is very high. TAP and TRAP integration with PoD is key component of this product. Pulling e-mails from clients, ability of customization, imposter spam feature should be used by everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Language of e-mails should be considered and PoC times, you should test every language you used. English, French protection performance may be better then other low used languages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TAP and TRAP portals are new for us. We attained better reporting and better protection.
Reliable product
What do you like best about the product?
Continuous feature development.
Easy to use interface
Good protection with few false negatives.
Good support and engineers.

Good protection with few false negatives.
Good support and engineers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple interfaces to manage PPS, TRAP and TAP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TRAP is an awesome product and reduces the need for manual deletion of delivered malware associated emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent and reliable product which is always undergoing feature improvements.
Increased email security
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint classification has been far better at catching malicious emails than our past vendors. TAP is a major feature that helps us identify phishing and malware emails. Even if they were delivered, it doesnt stop analyzing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that the reporting could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helped us become more secure through email.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Verify with a POC that this is the right solution for you.
A hugely capable and almost infinitely tunable system
What do you like best about the product?
Having come from a MessageLabs environment, the vast array of configurable options is at first bewildering. I love the fact that the rules based approach means we can tweak, tune and configure options that we would never have been able to achieve with the previous vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
The terminology can be confusing, for example an email marked as "Quarantined" may not in fact be quarantined as most people would understand it. Support can be a little too heavily focussed on west coast US timezones which can mean that accessing critical support has sometimes been difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a multinational company with numerous business units globally all operating in different ways and with different business requirements, it's great that we can setup some fairly complex sets of policy routes and rules and still continue to operate a single service from Proofpoint.
