Proofpoint Enterprise Protection/TAP
What do you like best about the product?
Proofpoint is best in the market, they are going to be beyond any other players in terms of functionality offered. They provide both a cloud and appliance/virtual appliance model for deployment. In our experience the cloud/hosted model was very quick and easy to setup and integrates with our directory service and federation for single sign on. Their support services are beyond any other I have experienced, providing fast resolution of issues. Proofpoint support have have also been able to able to help with custom configuration a number of times to help me achieve additional filtering goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to competitors their solutions are quite expensive, and as we renew support, they get more expensive every year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofpoint Enterprise Protection/TAP have really helped to protect our users against modern spam and phishing attacks. If an attack manages to get through I am alerted to the issue afterward and have access to the data I need to re-mediate.

Build up the budget and negotiate hard, it's worth it

Pretty good detection rate, not many false positives and good bulk mail detection

The outbound secure messaging generates some complaints from our users

Protects against spam and viruses, protects against PHI leaving

What do you like best about the product?
It is not only antispam but full set of email security features, including checking sender eligibility, domain proofing, connection checking and much more. Only after all these nice features comes in play antispam with multiple engines.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could have more granularity and sometimes there is feeling that software does not learn from reported false positives or false negatives. False flags could be nicer integrated into business software (Outlook).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides not only antispam, but eliminates much more on connection level, before spam even hits mailboxes. Also, it provides antimalware protection.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are multiple AV vendors you can choose with Proofpoint to make protection stronger, we tried McAffee and F-Secure, both performed exceptionally.

Out of the box installation. Simple tool to manage spam control. Reliable product.

Some automatic emails template are only in english

Great Product for Email Protection
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about proofpoint is that the product does exactly as advertised. The email spam in our environment has dropped and end users are no longer loaded with spam.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike is I believe the interface needs a facelift. Could be a little easier to navigate for new users.

The business problems we are solving is preventing bad emails from reaching our end users.

Proofpoint is a simple tool to get the job required done, which in this case is ensuring that spam mail does not reach our end users.

What do you like best about the product?
Effective protection against spam, phishing and other threats. Useful spam report delivered to inbox to monitor activity and flexibility in determining own policy for exceptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Everything works just fine and I am satisfied with the product.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that we can rest assured that we are protecting our end users and our company at a high level again email fraud, attachment defense and malicious urls.

Complexity of managing rules and policies.

Email filtering and protection. Proofpoint protects us from viruses, email fraud, etc.

Proofpoint is a full-featured email filtering product that works effectively.

Easy to setup and maintain. Daily report of blocked emails. Easy to release or block spam.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a little outdated, but other than that I really don't have many complaints. It performs it's designed functions pretty well without a lot of hands on effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Useful for Spam, email recovery when outages occur. When email is down Proofpoint holds all email that has not yet been delivered and it can be opened and viewed from the user web interface. No new email cannot be created or sent, but the ability to still receive and review does work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are thinking about using this software I would suggest you do the trial first and this will help you understand how easy it is to use and maintain.

What do you like best about the product?
This is the product for email protection. There is no other product that compares to this. It is easy to use and easy to create custom rules, alerts, and reports. It runs the email in a sandbox and can rewrite urls found in an email.

What do you dislike about the product?
The price and the searching capability could be better, sometimes when you click between dates, and phishing/malware it is buggy.
