Amazing product
What do you like best about the product?
Amazing product, lots of new features and bespoke support service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at the moment - everything runs smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting Mac devices to Directory service.
Jumpcloud - Small but Mighty.
What do you like best about the product?
Their Support has been pretty amazing. They are constantly making upgrades and changes to their service. The tool does what it's supposed to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like they have some room for improvements around the UI for Software Installs. I think there are ways to make it much more user friendly. Also they collect a bunch of device data, but some of it is not able to be pulled into a report even though it's in JumpCloud
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides simple access to the main needs of Active Directory/SCCM
Directory Services (and more) simplified
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is a seamless, easy-to-administer directory tool for the cloud age. The setup is quick and easy, and the licensing model is simplified for easy visibility and understanding, as compared to MS AD licensing, which seems intentionally complex with the goal of laddering up costs and increasing dependency through overburdening licensing layers.
What do you dislike about the product?
RBAC and more seamless policy management took awhile (I was an early adopter in 2015) but it's all in place now, so no lingering complaints there. The licensing is creeping toward a more modular approach, which raises a minor flag given my previous comments on MS's layered licensing muck, but this seems very clear and advertised cleanly in matrix form on website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More secure endpoint, systems, and VPN management. The ability to control all these simply without an MSCE knowledge set in place is a huge benefit to a small, hybrid IT team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that it fits your business needs around application management via SSO or LDAP
Easy SSO setup for anyone
What do you like best about the product?
Setting up an SSO it's a no-brainer even for someone as inexperienced as me! It took me no more than 10 minutes to add new users and set up an SSO for them. I'm a software developer and was in need to test some applications I deployed to the cloud with an SSO provider. I had literally no experience whatsoever with SSO nor SAML when I found an article recommending JumpCloud. I opened an account and started fidgeting with it. It took me literally no more than 10 minutes to have it up and run AND integrated with my applications. Honestly, it was mind-blowing how easy and fast that was! Since then I have used it to do further testing and found it to be a very reliable tool in my belt. If you are looking for something that is intuitive and simple to grasp I can't stress enough how well integrated the workflows are. I mean, you can create some users, add them to some groups and have some of the groups implement SSO. How hard can that be? These concepts are intuitive to anyone, so it's really easy to navigate around the application user interface. You can't always say that of any application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think I came across anything I dislike so far... But If I were to say something I would recommend having more in-place tooltips to help people who don't have any clue (like myself) about active directory and authentication and authorization concepts. Having said that, even someone like me, with little to nothing exposure to the topic, could manage to work his way around on the first time and got something done in less than 10 minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a software developer using SSO to enable access to applications running on a Cloud Platform. At first, it was kind of hard to find an SSO provider that wasn't tied to any particular cloud provider: if you are using Azure, then probably Azure AD is the way, likewise if you are using Amazon Web Services Amazon SSO may be the reasonable answer, and you would probably go with Identity management with Google Cloud Platform, but what if you have applications running on all 3 platforms? what if you want the freedom to switch from one platform to another without having set up all the security again? a tricky question but JumpCloud does the trick.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If this is your first time, make sure to make some reading on the topic before jumping on. There is a lot of resources out there on Medium and other platforms. Also, make sure you check the documentation to look for a very particular question. If you get really stuck, you can always talk to support, but be ready to clearly explain what are you trying to accomplish, what have you tried so far, and the results you have obtained on each attempt.
Excellent!
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, with JumpCloud I feel secure and there is nothing as important.
What do you dislike about the product?
What to say.. The customer support is responsive, their service is great, I couldn't find any faults..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I didn't have a problem initially, but jumpcloud surely helped me avoid more than one!
Jumpcloud has helped us bridge the gap between many of our Services
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part is the active directory integration because it helps us sync accounts across all platforms when paired with jumpcloud s SSO.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at this point as we just started using it I'm sure we will find some minor obstacles but as far as a i can tell JumpCloud has been a great solution for us and will continue to do so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to link active directory with jumpcloud and use the sso feature to unify our login systems across our organization. It has also given us the ability to change and update passwords withough having to be onsite or connected to our network over vpn. Jumpcloud also helps us manage our passwords complexity requirements making sure that all of our users passwords are in sync and meet our security requirements to eliminate security concerns. Our security team also used directory insights page to lookup and confirm suspicions about logins and user authentication they also use jumcloud to disable user accounts when employees are terminated. We also use it to disable compromised accounts and change their passwords when there is a security threat. We also use Jumpcloud to delegate users who can acces systems with elevated permissions. We also use it for radius authentication as well as LDAP on our vpn and other services such as Intranet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using local Active directory as you're sole identity provider you should look at jumpcloud fore the sole fact that it would allow you to change passwords and preform resets outside your network securely.
The best Cloud alternative for AD
What do you like best about the product?
Completely cloud-based user and device management service. It's a all-in-one solution that makes it very convenient to manage the company with cross-platform systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Running commands on systems remotely can be improved, as it is sometimes not very clear if the command is actually executing or just frozen or failed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud help us automate a lot of tasks in our Onboarding/Offboarding processes, which helps provisioning users to multiple SaaS at once, enable SSO and assign devices. Some of these features are available in the Admin console, and the availability of a very straigh-forward and well documented API endpoints allows doing even more advanced things.
User Management made effortless!
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about JumpCloud is that it offers one centralized administrator dashboard across the Operating System to manage the Access Permissions in scale. Managing Full Disk Encryption, OS Updates, User Roles Assignment are breeze and scallable across the organization. Where it used to be a nightmare with AD.
And not to forget the APIs are surprisingly Powerful, to take things handy! It also plays well with the Google Worplace & Microsoft 365.

What do you dislike about the product?
Minor UI Revamping needed to
Domain Name Changes are not supported
Domain Name Changes are not supported
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Given the COVID-19 Pandemic, as the remote work tookover we needed some better tool than Azure AD to manage all the staffs streamlined. USer Roles Management controls offered by JumpCloud is great to scale at the organization level (Instead of manually training people of non technical background to do it by themselves by following knowledgebase). It worked for us to get our institution up and running for the Remote-Education.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're planning to switch form Azure AD, Would definately suggest over Auth0 or Okta for it's Ease of Use, and the features that it offers. Even for the Cloud Services like Google Workplace (GSuite) & Microsoft 365 would suggest to have a try.
JumpCloud - an all in one solution to control your work place devices
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to control all devices and connect to modern user governance and management tools. One place to rule them all. More than once, JumpCloud saved me from formatting a team member's computer because the team member forgot his password and was locked out of his machine. We have a lot of Macs in the company, and it is one of the best solutions for Macs, and of course, it works as perfectly for Windows machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to have a quicker support for updated OS versions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
a Domain like controlling employees' devices - multiple devices like Macs, Windows PCs, Mobile devices, etc. We use GSuite Business, and we don't have a domain controller and active directory, so we use JumpCloud to facilitate this functionality
