    Computer Software

Now you see it

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid charts is the premier diagramming software. I love many of the capabilities. I use Lucid for creating learning processes within our training and development team. The one feature I use a lot is layers. This allows me to socialize the charts with others. In fact, I never socialized process charts until I started using Lucid. Layers made it easy to get info to the right people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much of a dislike - but I just don't seem to use it all the time. I use it for one big project, but then that's it. I imagine HR and engineering would use it more. If I had to nitpick, it would be the inability to dynamically change text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication of process - hands down. Sometimes, our systems are so complex, it's hard to keep it all straight. Lucid solves this problem for us. Sharing is akin to Google sharing so it's very easy to socialize ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will definitely not regret trying out Lucid. When I started using it years ago, I never fully realized how useful it is to make things go visual.

What do you dislike about the product?
This is still a browser. Would like an pc/mac app

Creating diagrams for project proposals to customers. It does play a part in elucidating our engineer's thoughts and ideas to our clients.

Flexible, easy to use and has lots of options

  • October 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very flexible and has a ton of different shapes to choose from. I can use this for everything from network diagrams, UML, ERD to sequence diagrams and even UX flows. Lots of different options. It also allows me to import from and export to Visio. Being on a Mac and working with a lot of Windows users, this helps a lot since they all use Visio and I don't like to keep booting my VM just to open up Visio.

I also like the ability to create folders and organize the various charts. I can even share an entire folder to allow easy collaboration on projects with specific people. No need to share each individual chart.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is cool they have a free account but it is pretty limited on the number of objects per document that is allowed. You also have to pay to get revision history. Not a big deal though since it isn't very expensive and I am more than happy to support development of this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Part of my job is to create various types of software diagrams. Lucidchart allows me to do this quickly and easily. It also allows me to easily share with others and export to various formats.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No need to think twice. Well worth the money and a great product.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
getting my whole team to see ideas/concepts clearly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think I've just touched the tip of the iceberg with this project so far. There are lots of possible uses beyond wireframing. It's priced great and super easy to use. Go for it.

I use Lucidchart ---- boss thinks I am a hero!

  • September 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm really enjoying Lucidchart because it was easy to pick-up and I didn't spend a lot of time in tutoring mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of right now, I have not stumbled on anything I don't like about Lucidchart. It's been quite helpful with the past few projects I've done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Here's what sold me on Lucidchart. I was in the midst of an uncomfortable team video call where we weren't making headway and couldn't grasp the flow of a complex process. Someone on the call, took control of the screen, brought up Lucidchart and began drafting a flow. When we could visually see a process flow, the frustration dissipated and we were able to accomplish or goals. When the opportunity arose to build charts for projects, I quickly turned to Lucidchart. My boss has been so impressed with 'my' chart building skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your business is into graphics and flows, consider Lucidchart!

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it has ASHRAE and ANSI library of symbols ready to be loaded at my own convenience
What do you dislike about the product?
The PDF conversion from the lucidchart platform isn't the best and does require a lot of fiddling around to get it right finally
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
process flow diagram for a platen press machinery
Recommendations to others considering the product:
works well for PFD and P & IDs, please check in with the ISA website and cross-reference to see if latest symbols are what you see in the library
