Flexibility

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Lucidchart on my Mac, my iPad, and on my Windows 8 desktop machine. The ability to work on the same document seamlessly across devices is an absolute key selling point for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Some features are not available in all the clients - but then I simply don't use those features so it's not really an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network modeling is key. Having a consistent template for architecture designs has been very useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good replacement for Visio on the desktop for me - especially given that I'm a Mac user.

My favourite diagraming tool

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The vast array of options! I work as a mobile product manager. I have never run into a situation with my needs (defining in-app flows, features, alternatives) when I would be forced to look for other system. Lucidchart set of tools and customization options alongside sharing, commenting, integration and exporting functionalities always 100% cover my requirements with ease. It has saved me a lot of times explaining my ideas with my colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Minor stuff, occasional annoyance with UI, especially when options density causes Lucidchart to misunderstand what I wanted to do with a click. I acknowledge this is felt by your dev team and being optimized in every iteration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Defining mobile app functionality, brainstorming alternatives, quicker sharing complex ideas with visuals
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Totally give it a try, spend some time and collect the rewards.

Collaborative Visual Thinking

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Love the library of shape libraries for for flowcharting & UML
- Love the way line connections snap on between shapes and the flexibility of moving connections around
- Love the options for labeling connections, especially being able to move the text above, below and on the line
- Love the ability to share with my teams and collaborating with them in real-time
What do you dislike about the product?
- Duplicating a shape requires many key strokes. Wish we had a shortcut to duplicate
- Mindmapping and laying out mindmaps is still primitive when you compare to products like Mindmapper Curio etc. I invariably end up using another product when i create mind-map
- The UI mockup tools are not as convenient as Balsamiq
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative visual thinking
- Business process management. Quick clean diagrams
- Concept mapping.
- UML diagrams
- Value stream mapping

Benefits:
- Faster collaboration with globally dispersed teams
- Greater alignment among teams
- Collaborative visualization
- Fewer text-based requirement & design specification
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jump on to it.

My Go To

What do you like best about the product?
Lucid Chart is my go-to tool for creating process maps. It's easy to use, and easy to pass along to my clients once I have completed my project. The charts and functional, usable and provide so many benefits to my clients. I love the new functionality as well. Great job guys!
What do you dislike about the product?
If I could change one thing I would definitely add the ability to link documents other than google docs. For my clients that don't use Google this creates the need for a work around which I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Process map, or as we call them 'freedom maps', are exactly that...the business owners map to freedom. Every process that runs through their business is documented allowing a visual view of what boxes an owner needs to get out of (outsource, hire, etc) in order to live their ideal lifestyle. Lucid chart is key for this.

What do you like best about the product?
I loved that I had never heard of it, and when I asked for a flow chart solution from teammates, they all pointed me to LucidChart. I was then able to pick it right up without asking for any help. It's super intuitive and user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Enter does not move to the next line. I have to Shift+Enter (but that's a 1st world problem).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am creating flow charts for processes on our IT Help Desk. This helps those who are more "visual" learners and is a great companion for further understanding written directions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Enjoy...because you will! :)

Lucid chart is a wonderful tool, especially if you are a MAC user!

  • March 24, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can search for items including google and just drag in pictures, if needed! I love that you can upload existing visio or omnigraffle designs! I have been using this for work for the past few months. I liked it so much during my trial that I just went and bought the professional subscription for one year. I even posted to my company that we should get this for all our Engineers and SAs. As a MAC user I had to open up visio in my Windows VM which was about the only reason I used Windows anymore. I tried omnigraffle but just didn't like it, too hard to use, cumbersome. Lucid chart is so easy, I already have another two coworkers converted. over to the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, nothing! I will say that this is cloud based, and as with anything cloud based you cannot work offline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a Solutions Architect and have been using Lucidchart to draft network diagrams for clients. So much quicker and easier to use than visio! It saves me time, easy to upload existing Cisco stencils, and it has AWS and Azure stencils, as well as most general stencils (including Cisco) already built in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the trial and chose for yourself.
