Great concept, clunky execution

What do you like best about the product?
The finished look of the chart looks great! > love that I can add photos, departments, locations, and managers to each person. I love the drag and drop ability as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Manual information input is clunky and time consuming as well as a headache. Did not have a spreadsheet of information to merge, so was adding individuals manually. Would love to see a more user friendly and streamlined approach to manually entering in the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating the company associate diagram. As we grow quickly we want to be able to see how each person fits into their team and the company as a whole. It is strictly for in-house informational purposes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Merge data, don't do manual input

Great tool for online quick diagramming with room for improvement

What do you like best about the product?
The overall experince with lucid chart have been great. It offer tons of template that can get you started with almost any project of multiple type (not only computer related) . It also have a great selection of shapes, images and icons such as microsoft azure for cloud, cisco switches, and security icons. Bellow some other thigns that I like:

1. Very easy to create a design once you have watched the tutorial
2. Can share using the link, pdf, and export to Visio
3. Real-time collaboration,, whice excelllent for remote work
What do you dislike about the product?
There is definetly room for imrpovment for example some time durng the meeting and collaboration It's a bit slow sometimes when more than one person is working on the same page. It also happend whenever you are collaborating without a meeting. I have aasked my teammate to see if that was only me but they are having the same issue. Please not that it is now super slow, its just not smooth as if you were working alone on the page.

I think the worst part of the overall experience is dialing with connecting arrows to other objects. I am relative new to the program so it may be my fault but sometime it is a pain to connect arrow when you have multiple obeject in area. For example a process flow with multiple if statement can become a challenge to maintain the arrow in the righ place after you want to add a new object. Connecting arros can become a nightmare for complex diagram since thae arrows may disconnect and connect to the wrong objects changing the entire diagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tools to design network diagram, process flow and that can be crossplaftform ( some of my teams members work with mac and other with linux) Threfore, Visio was not an option for us. We use the tools to quickly collaborated and explain to other team section of the proccess flow that they have to work on. Doing this have expidicte the collarobarion whitin teams. Usually we are at least two people working on the same diagram at a time while sharing the ideas over a call.

In short we use it for diagramming network interface, program process flow, and quick illustration during meetings. It helps communicate the problem and solution visually to the the customer and team memebers

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Lucidchart is how easy it is to use. I have tried other software offering similar services to Lucidchart, and by far, this one has made my work flow the fastest. I especially like the robustness of the diagrams. When changing connection points, moving blocks around, or adding new components, the software seems to intelligently know what I want to accomplish and help me do it. With other software, I found that my diagrams would break when I tried to make simple changes, but this happened much more infrequently on Lucidchart.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, the biggest downside to Lucidchart is the cost. My company uses Lucidchart so this is not a huge issue for me, but if I wanted to use this software, I could not justify the cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am creating wiring diagrams to share my ideas with the team and help organize my thoughts. The biggest benefit has been the time I save using the well-crafted tools on Lucidcharts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pull the trigger if you need this software for work purposes. In that setting, it will more than pay for itself in the time you save developing diagrams, communicating ideas, and creating flow charts. I would recommend testing out the software on their trial program and learning how to use it as best you can. It only took me about an hour to really get the hang of it, but after that point I was able to make several diagrams in a fraction of the time it took me before.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating infographics is what drew the company to Lucidchart in the first place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't used Lucidchart enough yet to really be past the initial learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easier for less technologically-inclined users to create precisely the graphic they need in Lucidchart than it is in some of the G Suite products.

Diagramming as a beginner

  • February 08, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Structure yet simple and easy to use, the "drag and drop" feel with the suggestive process makes diagramming simple. Started with basic dags to get used to the elements available and found it quite sufficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
From the external of a diagram, you can't see the volume of sheets maintained within. For example, I can't tell that my high-level overview containing one sheet differs from my ERD, which includes five sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used currently to prepare ERD's / DAG's in preparation for a data warehouse build, use to uncover what may be missing in our data set and how we should be constructing the build out.
