Versatile, Fast Diagramming with Great Templates—and a Helpful Student Plan

  • May 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I find most helpful about Lucid is that it lets me create many different types of diagrams, from BPMN to UML, as well as simple brainstorm sketches and drawings. It also includes a wide range of default symbols and templates in its library, which makes it easy to get started without having to build everything from scratch. The UX is very straightforward, it integrates with different tools, and performance-wise it feels fast. Over time, it has also shifted a bit toward a more Miro-like approach. I'm a student, and they offer a generous student plan for free, which is very helpful!

In my opinion, the AI features still lack sufficient practical applications and functionality. At the time, I wasn't able to get good results or complete diagrams from the prompts.

I haven't had to contact support yet, so I'm unable to review that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven’t used Lucid in a while, but a few months ago, when I was using it to create BPM diagrams, I ran into a small issue. I couldn’t move the label position above or below the symbols, or over to the left, which was pretty annoying. Because of that limitation, I had to manually add labels and group them with the symbols.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me with faster diagramming than in for example Visio.

Great Customization and Templates, but Text Box Limits Hold It Back

  • May 19, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of customizable options and design templates
What do you dislike about the product?
I just wish it had fewer restrictions, especially the maximum cap on how many text boxes you can have without a paid subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me create a visual learning tool so I can better visualize my ideas and organize them into clearer, more defined information. It works fast and well and has a lot of useful built in features integrated into the AI portion

Easy to Use and Fast, but the AI Still Needs Refinement

  • May 18, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The look and feel is easy to use, and the performance is good. I didn’t use any integrations, and my testing was on the free model. Overall, the AI still needs some refinement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AI sill needs work to be truely useful in terms of natural language or visual instructions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a visual workflow for a client with ADHD, so I connected to Lucid via ChatGPT. That let me combine what I already knew about the workflow and what I understood about the client, and build something she could easily follow and understand.

Great real-time collaboration, but the AI interface needs refinement

  • May 18, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everyone is able to work in the suite at the same time. I like the way you can see the initials of other collaborators while they are working. The zoom in/out feature is nice and it is also very cool that you can highlight specific areas to have AI perform actions for that area only.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AI interface seems like it still needs a bit of work. There were a few things it got hung up on and then couldn’t complete. It also wasn’t clear that I needed to click in the top left to allow reactions. I’m still not sure what, exactly, I was enabling, but after some troubleshooting, taking that step fixed the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping a cross functional team from different locations all collaborate on best ways to improve a workflow

Great UML Diagramming, but UI and Admin Management Feel Dated

  • May 13, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the UML diagrams the most. We draw structural and business diagrams. I also used it to map out blueprints.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is not so easy at times and less flexible than in Figma for example. I also don't like the whol admin management part, it's old and obsolete, too slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Diagramming solutions for the product and team activities like user story mapping.

LucidChart: An excellent tool, weakened by the strength of the AI

  • May 12, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
I find it really handy how you can, as the name suggests, collab in real time on a map
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate to be that guy, but I'm not that fond of the included AI: it can seem like it can just do everything for you
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making a mindmap on LucidChart: I haven't really found any other websites that let you make them so easily and quickly. It's very handy for my projects.
