Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allways, is easy to run .
Works like a charm to automate our devops
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I liked is the integration with ansible. Makes our deployment super-easy. With proper ACL, were able to provide deployment access to various non-technical teams so that they are not dependent on us to deploy an app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding remote nodes could have been from the Rundeck UI. It's a bit frustrating to create the project directory and sub-directories (eg: /var/lib/rundeck/projects//etc/)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to give deployment access to several non-technical people/teams in our company. Rundeck provided the best solution for our problem.
Just wonderfull

Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. The Rundeck community in Brazil could be present at meetings like Devops Day, Summit, RoadSec and other meetups in order to increase visibility and consequently the number of users.
2. Documentation could be clearer, especially regarding access permissions (ACLs).

Best option to audit your operations
What do you like best about the product?
Rundeck has a good integration with ansible tasks and also I very good way to audit our infrastructure tasks. It's very simple to install and create jobs, good integration with slack as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
ACL configuration to control security resources (in opensource version) is not so simple to configure, edit acl file is not intuitive. The web interface could be more simple to add new nodes, avoiding edit files manually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We automated some manual tasks like deploy apps, execute and monitor backups, we created useful tasks to troubleshoting complex environments just by one click. Now we know who is executing our scripts and we can now monitor and audit the infrastructure with more effectiveness.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Rundeck is a good (maybe the best) opensource option to automate your infrastructure in a simple way, and very easy the final user.
Great software that empowers teams to get things done
What do you like best about the product?
Rundeck provides an easy way for users from different teams to login to a simple UI and run jobs. It's easy to intsall and maintain.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm a bit concerned about the cost if we ever have to move to paid features. It gets expensive quite fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lots of manual processes have been automated. Scripts that I would normally run manually can be run by teams in different departments
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have scripts you run manually and you need teams to be able to kick off via a simple UI then this is the tool!
The secret sauce to delegate automation maintenance
What do you like best about the product?
Rundeck allow us to delegate access to complex scripts/tasks so anyone can change and run but keeping full accounting and every output from the task for every time it was run. It supports to load node selection from anything so with smart selection even if the infra grows or reduce it size tasks won't need to be changed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing I dislike is that it was written in Java, but not because of rundeck, I always dislike java. Thankfully the tasks for rundeck do not require any java knowledge or interaction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Batch processes, Automation scripts, App Maintenance jobs, Complex apps with multinode/multidc deployment, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it, you won't regret it.
Best tool in market for automating Operations
What do you like best about the product?
Many reasons to like Rundeck few of them are great plugins, nice UI, Continuously evolving and super active dev team. Makes life easier for Operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say dislike but i would definitely like to see some improvements in heartbeat features, Running standalone java plugins. While using rundeck in a cluster mode, log viewing experience can be improved. Currently in cluster mode, If job is running in one instance of a cluster, The other instance is not able to view the logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a part of rundeck implementation we are automatic, Server Rebuild process for Stores. We are also automating operation works as in Server Restart, Server Health Check etc.
Fantastic tool, free, updates are great, never had any issues
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, quick to setup, but easy to maintain. It's about as easy (or easier) to set up and get running as a cron job but the functionality is much better. Great community as well.
The genius in the product is how easy it is to get started. You can go from 0-hero in less than an hour, and that's amazing for a lot of these Linux software packages.
I really like the way you can setup projects for each piece of your work. My work spans a wide area and it's nice to be able to organize it. Also, getting emails for failed jobs is AMAZING. Sure, you can do that with cron jobs but why? This is way easier.

What do you dislike about the product?
Any issues I have had have all been resolved by new features. Currently I have no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a sole dev and I didn't want something that would be maintenance heavy. I also needed something that could help me automate a lot of my work. Rundeck did all of those things and has continued to be a fantastic software that gets better over time.
