Veeam Availability Suite is awesome!
What do you like best about the product?
The Backup, Notification, and the migration are all awesome. I don't have troubles with those, and any troubles I do have are easily mitigated via the comprehensive Veeam knowledge base or their outstanding support..
What do you dislike about the product?
The Veeam infrastructure is a bit complicated as you need agents or proxies, WAN accelerators, and Repositories to be all separate. While having each piece be modular allows for flexibility in combining the different pieces it does make for a more complex installation in a smaller environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have an incredible backup system (the backup includes automating my offsite copying). I have also used Veeam to make copies of my VMs spin up on new storage and to make migration to a new VMware cluster with new storage easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The software works great for backups and monitoring. This is extremely flexible and can be made to work in any environment.
Excellent on and off site backup solution with great configuration.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of set up and the ease of restoration of backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve to get VMWare backups properly configured, and to get the agents to back up properly to the assigned NAS and cloud storage locations. However, Veeam support was excellent and readily available to assist with these issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My predecessor had a RAID controller for backup. This has provided us an actual backup solution, and we've been able to demonstrate recoverability in testing.
Veeam provides an complete backup solution for us
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to backup VMs, bare metal servers and desktops all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Upgrades are a bit complicated and time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On premise and off site back ups.
it's so easy creating and then using backup jobs
What do you like best about the product?
restore only one file or an complete entire VM
What do you dislike about the product?
opening Veeam Availability Suite could be faster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
restore essentials files killed by users.
save time instead of redo same job twice.

Go now
We have been using Veeam for six months and it works smoothly and efficiently
What do you like best about the product?
Very simple to setup and use. Excellent reporting and it can talk to almost any type of server and infrastructure.
In addition, Veeam ONE is a very useful management tool as well.
In addition, Veeam ONE is a very useful management tool as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tape support exists but it is not very elegant. For example you cannot assign specific tapes to specific jobs, it cannot send tapes of a specific type to the correct drive, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. We are doing off-site backups to the Cloud
2. Deduplication has decreased the backup size
3. Restore is much easier than with our previous product

What do you dislike about the product?
The new feature on NAS backup has limitation on the backup size quota. This can be eliminated to give full protection to on premise deployments where the storage capacity is managed by the organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During the earlier version, we were facing slower backups and with less speed. With excellent technical support and guidance from VEEAM team, we have overcome this issue and achieved much higher backup speed by fine tuning the implementation and on premise infrastructure capabilities. This enabled us to reduce the backup intervals and minimize the data loss in case of any disaster. While replicating to the DR, the latency was higher and reduced the backup speed and with optimized / enhanced DR site connectivity, our DR backup has also significantly faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Identify the RPO, RTO and Offsite / DR backup, Database or application constraints, if any to be addressed, replication to Fail-over /DR site, Storage capacity and number of years retention requirements in advance to have a clear vision, strategy for the solution deployment
Product is excellent and choose the right implementation partner with clear understanding & agreement of the implementation scope to avoid any rework affecting performance issues, backup Quality and any other issues.

Veeam is my prefered backup solution.
What do you like best about the product?
I've used Veeam since back in the mid 2000's in one form or another. It's progressively gotten better and better. Additionally, the new rollback feature is stellar as is being able to test in a test environment outside of production.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much. Mostly small nit picks like the job delete and edit button are right beside each other in the right click menu although there is a confirmation prompt so you don't accidentally delete a job but they're still a little close for comfort. I also would like a way to delete backup chains from within the B&R console rather than in the raw data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aside from reconfiguration here and there it really makes my backups pretty automatic especially with Surebackup making sure my backups are going to actually work should I need them. I am able to set different retention periods for different servers so more important jobs can be run more often to minimize the amount of lost data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Veeam is easy to configure but in the effort to only do it once, learn more of the features and everything going in and you'll be further ahead.
