Great Salesforce integration and easy document gathering
What do you like best about the product?
The Salesforce integration is pretty good and easy to understand

The UI could use some work... it takes a lot of practice to get used to it

Document generation - easy and compliant

Love the level of customization and tracking that you have at your fingertips

As a proposal template goes on it can be frustrating and cumbersome to make fonts and sizes match up and appear templated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proposals were being used as a step in the process and the team wasn't sure when someone was really taking the time to read through the proposal for next steps. Conga helped remove that concern.
Efficient but slow
What do you like best about the product?
That I can create any simple document and help me automatize processes inside my sales team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it is slow to load and even if it works in the app, it's double the time to load and because it is a pop up it can be, but I understand it is heavy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generating different types of contracts as well as job orders for our project management team.
Great Support
What do you like best about the product?
We started working with Tinderbox, which then became Octiv, which is now Conga Collaborate. The staff along the way has always been helpful and they provide great resources and new tips and tricks constantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the name changes, some of the content we used to work with has been a little confusing, but for the most part, the transition has been smooth. The only specific example I can think of is the remaining of the Assets section to Content since there used to be a separate Content section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to streamline our proposal process because of Conga. We have many different services we offer our customers and there is no one size fits all solution when it comes to our industry. Conga has made it easy to create different drag and drop content sections so our sales team is always using up to date information on our services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have multiple products or services that you constantly have to generate new proposals for, Conga is a great platform.

Their support has been excellent in finding out exactly what we want to do and leading us through how to get it done.

Not quite as flexible as I'd like. I'd like some ability to add custom notes or personalization to a particular document.

we've used Conga for generating invoices, automatic reminder/notice emails.

What do you dislike about the product?
Billing is sometimes based on different structures which can be pretty confusing. Also, there is little support for secure PDF

PDF document generation for contract signing. We used to have a lot of issue managing contract documents manually and hence switched to Conga to attach the document generated to the Contract record.

Please have a look at this software before making a selection, as they have excellent API support.

What do you like best about the product?
Conga does well with complicated logic; our contract template had different T&Cs depending on the product(s) purchased and Conga was able to take our Franken-template and pump out accurate Work Orders every time.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. There are limits to the logic that made it necessary to have manual edits in every contract instance, which is understandable but wish it could have been more robust.
2. Support services were 6/10 (I often felt that the Conga engineers/sales reps had not prepared for our meetings at all)
3. The use of tables vs. static text made for mismatched margins which overall lead to many manual adjustments or just letting a sometimes visually sloppy document go through to customers.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing time spent drawing up Work Orders and reduce human errors from manual drafting. Both improved but were not 100% eradicated (but met and in some cases exceeded expectations).
It just works
What do you like best about the product?
The title says it all: It just works. We became a Conga customer four years ago and the product has continued to scale with our business. The new interface, which I guess is at this point more than a few years old, further simplified the user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Embedding conditional logic in templates could be easier. In order to lessen the impact of this shortcoming, we put more of our business logic in the Salesforce integration as opposed to in the Conga templates themselves. This adds a adds a modest amount of maintenance overhead when we need to make a change to all template variants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We generate ordering documents using data in Salesforce opportunity records and automatically send the PDFs to DocuSign for digital signature. Our ordering documents used to be created manually, which resulted in them being littered with errors. By enforcing document creation and signature with a combination of Salesforce, Conga, and DocuSign, we've eliminated errors and reduced time to close.

Get to know the advanced DocuSign for Salesforce integration options; choosing the right settings can drastically simplify the user experience for non-administrators.
