Fantastic online tool for real-time collaboration

  • September 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So much. Real-time visibility to what everyone else is doing online. The ability to use or create templates that can re-create in-person experiences for familiarity or take advantage of online templates to remove the barriers that physical space would make. I also like that you can anonymize participants to enter information without knowing who wrote what - very useful for honest comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a navigation learning curve which is expected with any technology tool. The learning curve is short but steep. Once you get participants over that initial hurdle, they are fine. Low-tech users sometimes struggle, but a little patience and good planning go a long way in helping them get familiar with working in the MIRO space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So many things. Focus group feedback, customer and employee engagement, process improvements. The main benefit, the way we are using MIRO, is that we get great information and contributions because we set it so that people can join anonymously. Participants can write their truth without fear of repercussions. People who don't usually speak up or speak truth to power love using MIRO the way we set it up. We also find that introverts love using MIRO as there is a way for their voice to be heard without being drowned out by the talkers if we were in person.

    Computer Software

An indispensable collaboration tool for our regtech startup

What do you like best about the product?
We're a fully remote company, so this is the whiteboard we don't have. We use it for planning releases, for doing business analysis, and UX design. The best thing is the ability to see what other people are looking at, e.g. by following their mouse pointer. Then there's the infinite whiteboard space, easy replication of diagrams and long term storage. Miro is actually better than a real whiteboard!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's very little to dislike. Out of all the SaaS subscriptions we have, this is the most valuable tool we have as a team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, we had trouble communicating visualising online. Now, we are able to workshop online effectively, saving us time and money that it would cost to travel to the same place and hire a venue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it for a while and see how many uses you have for it. We've been seriously impressed by the templates, responsiveness and easy exports.

Collaborative Working Made Easy

  • September 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro enables people with all technical abilities to work together remotely, just as if you were stood around a whiteboard. The UI is intuitive for mind-mapping, note-taking, and basic diagramming.
What do you dislike about the product?
For more complex diagramming, Miro becomes a bit more clunky, particularly when looking at tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Miro for Systems Engineering to gather requirements from stakeholders in multiple locations. We use Miro post-its to arrange stakeholder needs by affinity before bringing the requirements offline into other software. It is also helpful for drawing system diagrams, such as functional flow diagrams, although if you dig into too many levels, it will become challenging to manage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get started with a free license and upgrade if you find it useful.

Miro is what was missing from our collar setup

  • September 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I push to use Miro for design tasks that start off with collective sharing of ideas, brainstormig, UX workshops and other "canvas-oriented" activities. I love the webpage feature and I use it basically on every board. It's so easy to get everyone on the same page. I like how the updates from my teammates are highlighted, and how the cover of each board reflects what's inside - much easier to remember which board is what based on visual memory, not just remembering the titles.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think some icon choices in the interface are confusing. I find myself constantly pushing the wrong buttons, I struggled most with cards and comments for some reason. I also couldn't make the Web clipper work. I installed the Chrome extension but somehow nothing was happening and I gave up.

Another piece of feedback that I shared previously is the insane number of emails I was bombarded with right after sign-up. It was annoying and overwhelming.

The last thing is the team setup. I wish I could invite teammates with viewing/commenting right only to the whole project space, not just individual boards. For us, it doesn't make sense to have a ton of editors, but we need to share things with the team quite often.

When I start a new board and I just want it empty, that modal that suggests templates to me always creates the impression that I can not get past it easily, there is no CTA - starts an empty board. I have to close it to do that and it throws me off no matter how many boards I start.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love seeing all types of files and information in one place - texts, tables, charts, pdfs, pictures, web captures, etc. It helps me have a well-rounded view of the project. I realised that my colleagues have much more to say and show me besides shared files and folders in a different system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Throw everything you want on the canvas, triage later. Don't succumb to the appeal of an infinite canvas, just because you can - it can get messy quickly. Could you keep all of your content in one huge word document? I guess you could, but it's not the brightest idea.

Everyone is Fit to Collaborate Together!

  • September 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tools are easily displayed. Also, it's eye-catching, easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
While visiting the share option from a Board, I was a little bit confused because of sharing settings. I think this is an option for improving UI design. And required more easily display sharing settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of the time I'm using miro to solve pre-defined end-user problems. Team collaboration helps me to reach my absolute solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For a new user, it can show a guideline or tooltip on how to use the miro board when the user creates his/her first board.

Great working space & clients platform

What do you like best about the product?
The Consultant mode to work together with clients and partners on projects, timelines, wallpapers, etc pp. Perfect for visual reports or project stati.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mind Maps could work better, here Mind Meister works better for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working together during the pandemic with partners and clients. Stakeholders and clients understand what we do during the project or during video calls. I like also the integrations to Zoom and Whereby.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it internally and with clients and partners, not only alone.

Just Miro it! Miro helped us change meeting format forever

  • September 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro provides enough tools (even with a free plan) to facilitate online meetings and keep all relevant information in front of you the whole time. Visualization helps my Team to be engaged and solve complex problems together. It's crucial today as we work remotely nowadays.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to specify how to move elements on a board or avoid ruing all your templates for a meeting for new users. So, Miro might be confusing firstly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro several times helped to conduct kick-off meetings and set expectations within teams. Visualization of ideas, processes, expectations in combination with proper facilitation technic guarantees a great result. Also, it's a vital tool for a Scrum Team to have cool retrospectives and planning sessions.

Miro enhances our brainstorming and planning workflow in a great and collaborative way.

What do you like best about the product?
The fluent collaboration and great templates speed up our creative and strategic processes/meetings. The interface is clean and easy to use, with no tutorial needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use Miro on a Samsung Flip 2, unfortunately some menus are not visible (e.g., the bottom left menu bar with presentation mode).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like to keep working creatively on a whiteboard. Due to home office, this is often impossible as a whole team. Miro helps us to keep up our processes with employees abroad. Of course, we can work way more flexibly and creatively with Miro in contrast to an analog whiteboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We've tried several other online collaboration tools, but none met the stability, ease of use, and scope of functions.

Miro in Engineering classes

  • September 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Infinite whiteboard, easy to use, elegant, highly interactive for students, compatible with groups and academic communities, multiplatform
I have used it for more than two years now, and It is a marvelous tool for subjects like economics, programming, history, etc.
Why use a traditional whiteboard if you can save that time with an infinite board for your whole semester?
What do you dislike about the product?
the three board limit for the free version limits projects for students
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Changing from a traditional class to a distance education model in only two days, I needed a big white board, easy to use, and the chance to design every class easily with multimedia references and broadcasting.

And each student can collaborate in seconds!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare all the available options, get all the info you can. If you are using zoom or meets, you know those tools and maybe a few others, so make your checklist and compare, you will find the best choice

My go-to Digital Collaboration Tool

  • September 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a simple, intuitive, and visually engaging software that makes working on a screen enjoyable. While the templates are great, I often use the software for affinity and mind mapping. The simplicity in connecting elements with lines is my favorite feature. It helps me show concepts as they evolve and develop a functional hierarchy. When working on live documents with teammembers, the voting and timing features also work great and it's easy to get around within the document.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more options for coloring and working with sticky notes. When working with user data, I often color code each participant by color, but there are not enough colors for all the participants, which leads to many problems. Sometimes I will turn over to text boxes, but because they do not auto-resize, it is annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working on analyzing user interview data. I bring interview notes into Miro and afinitize them to draw insights through a multi-staged process of sentiment evaluation, topic arrangement, and jobs to be done. These categories are combined to craft insights from each section of the research. The benefit is quick and easy manipulation of the data. For me, the best part is simply copying/pasting the WIP data into a new section to affinitize; this enables a traceable history of the data - something that physical notes are unable to do
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out! I have used both Miro and Mural, and I easily prefer Miro because it feels more polished
