Alteryx is the most user friendly automation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is very user friendly because of its workflow, canvas, and drag-drop tools experience. The best thing about it, is that it makes it very easy to teach and learn the tool. Other automation tools, mostly coding ones, are always written codes, while with alteryx you can get to the same desired automation in a more simpler way.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I first started using Alteryx, one of my main complaints was that I couldn't open XLS and XLSB files, it would be good if any files could be used easily. Also, the idea that I can't run the workflow with the input file open is not the best, because sometimes is good to run the workflow with the archive open to compare.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx is helping to reduce countless hours of manual work, also reducing risks. The way I usually build my workflows is with Analytic Apps, because this way I never need to open the workflow to change my input and outpout files, which makes the process of using Alteryx very smooth and dynamic.

What do you like best about the product?
The wide range of tools (user interface tools, macros, etc.), its ability to cache data, and a high performace interface that allows for quick workflow creation
What do you dislike about the product?
I am currently using Alteryx version 2021.4. In my opinion, the "filter" and "sort" options on the Results pane have been added unnecessary clicks and have become finicky to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of my main responsibilities is to automate manual reporting processes (i.e. Excel based). Alteryx not only achieves this plus full automation via the Alteryx Gallery, but it also enables to create analysis and metrics that would not be possible otherwise

In Tech Finance industry Alteryx helps to minimise the processing time and helps to get ready available data for insights and descision making.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy the fundamentals of learning how to build workflows is. I also like the tool easily connects to other tools such as Excel. Alteryx is much more effective than just using Excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how some of the tools are more challenging to understand and therefore implement in a workflow. Additionally, some of the logic within the calculator tool is difficult to comprehend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx is helping to consolidate several reconciliations on my team that were previously performed in Excel and took many more hours to perform. We have cut down on hours for many processes.
Your digital brain for data visualizations
What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is most helpful by helping the user combine and clean various data sources prior to visualization. Think of yourself as a composer, and each input an instrument. The tools that Alteryx provides--of which there are many--help you refine and balance the sound.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides to Alteryx is that its SQL writing environment could use improvements. While the program is a low-code/no-code platform, there are still many situations where SQL is incredibly helpful. It can sometimes be cumbersome to write the code directly in Alteryx, so an additional application specific to coding can be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, Alteryx solves the problem of silo'ed data sources elegantly. For projects requiring synthesis of many different data sources--some structured or unstructured, others automated or manual--Alteryx is a cornerstone in the work. For example, one can blend data from an Oracle database with data from Hadoop, or even data stored in an Excel workbook. It joins them all together and allows the user to combine them all into whatever outputs are necessary for the project. The outputs can be Tableau, Excel, CSV, etc which is incredibly useful as it can "feed" multiple dashboards that use the same data.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Alteryx for 6 months now. It helped me automate my Risk Audit tasks that took almost 2 months to complete.
My best moment came when a manager called me with a question. Answering it would take data from two or three databases and munging in MS Excel.I figured it would take about 3 hours.
But wait, I had received a license for Alteryx, so I installed and launched it. Input Data tool, connects to databases and I can write my own SQL? Henceforth, I can join data from different databases with the eponymously named Join tool. A few tools later, Filter, Formula, Summarize, and I was done.

Alteryx is very easy when you focus on the applying part. If you lack knowledge in SQL or Python then it can be hard to understand.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As soon as you bring an input on the canvas, wrap it in a container. Using "cache and run workflow" is the best. You can't cache multiple sources at once, so you want to disable all containers but 1, cache that one. Then enable the next container, cache, etc.
Learn to leverage the in-db tools. When first prototyping, my "input in-db" will pretty much always be select * from table, and second tool will be "select in-db". This allows you to sort / rename the columns and see everything on the table without having to go into the metadata window. I go back and optimize later.

For instance if I am joining a customer table (let's say 100 rows x 15 columns), to the fact table (100,000 rows x 5 columns). Those 2 smaller sources coming through the pipe run a lot faster than if you were to stick them together with SQL (in this example 100,000 rows x 20 columns).

Intuitive! Love that I can play around with it and also ask the community any questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does requiere time! And as a person with little time due to deadlines it makes it add to do all the trainings.

What do you like best about the product?
Besides the tool which I find incredibly easy and intuitive to use, the thing I like best is the Alteryx Community. Alteryx has the best community for an application I have ever experienced !!

Alteryx is an expensive tool to purchase and use.

In my organization Alteryx solves many problems from manufacturing to finance, supply chain to data science.

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is super-intuitive easy to learn with massive power to make your routine analysis so much easier. It also helps in deploying ETL processes and getting data of the web and has a lot of potential in the current booming Data analytics market. Thanks to Alteryx for helping me grow in my Data analysis journey.

It does not have much to dislike. It's a growing product but is expanding at massive scale
