What I like best is how easy it makes blending data from multiple sources and automating heavy spreadsheet workflows without needing complex coding. Building visual data pipelines saves a ton of time on repetitive reporting and data prep.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing costs can be quite high, making it a bit tough to justify for smaller teams or casual users. Also, processing very large datasets locally can sometimes slow down your machine significantly if workflows aren't optimized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the issue of manual, error-prone data preparation and report generation across multiple spreadsheets. By automating data blending and cleaning workflows, it helps speed up analysis tasks and gives us consistent, reliable results much faster.

The intuitive drag-and-drop workflow canvas makes complex data prep incredibly fast without needing heavy SQL or Python coding. It seamlessly blends data from multiple sources like databases, spreadsheets, and APIs in minutes, saving massive amounts of time on repetitive reporting tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing costs can be relatively high for small teams or individual users. Additionally, processing extremely massive datasets locally on Alteryx Designer can consume heavy system memory (RAM), requiring Alteryx Server or cloud computing for optimal scale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eliminates tedious, error-prone manual data cleaning in Excel. By automating routine weekly data aggregation and reconciliation processes, workflows that used to take hours now run in seconds, letting teams focus on data analysis rather than data prep.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Alteryx is that it makes working with data much easier and faster. The drag-and-drop interface is straightforward to use, so I can clean, combine, and analyze data without having to write a lot of code. It also helps me automate repetitive tasks, which saves time and lets me focus more on understanding the data and uncovering useful insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I don’t like about Alteryx is that it can be expensive, especially for smaller teams. It also takes time to learn all of its more advanced features, and when workflows get large, they can sometimes become difficult to manage. Aside from those drawbacks, it has been a reliable tool for data preparation and analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx helps me solve the problem of manual, time-consuming data preparation. It makes it straightforward to clean, combine, and transform data from different sources all in one place. This saves me a lot of time, reduces errors, and lets me get to the analysis much faster. As a result, I can spend more time finding insights instead of spending hours just preparing the data.

Additionally, while the visual canvas makes initial building approachable, complex workflows with hundreds of tools can quickly become cluttered, difficult to debug, and memory-intensive, leading to noticeable performance lags when processing massive datasets locally. Finally, the tool's heavy reliance on proprietary, pre-built macros can sometimes limit granular control, making highly specialized customization or seamless Git version control far more cumbersome than traditional code-based data pipelines.
