Visual Workflows That Automate Data Prep and Integrate Seamlessly
Reviewed on Jun 18, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Visual Workflows: Instead of writing Python or SQL, you use visual “tools” connected by lines to show exactly how data is being processed. This also acts as built-in documentation for the entire workflow. No-Code / Low-Code: Users ranging from data scientists to Excel-heavy business analysts can easily clean, transform, and analyze large datasets. Time-Saving Automation: Tasks that once took hours of manual work in Excel or MS Access can be automated and run with the click of a button. Powerful Integrations: It connects easily with cloud platforms, databases, and visualization software like Tableau and Power BI. Specialized Tools: It really shines in areas like geospatial (GIS) analysis and third-party data enrichment.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing so far, works as expected, will see
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx helps remove the bottlenecks caused by manual data preparation and coding by providing a self-service, drag-and-drop analytics platform. It reduces the need for specialized IT resources to work with complex datasets, enabling business users to blend, cleanse, and analyze data without having to write code.

Very Useful Endpoint Asset Management with Great Reporting (Including VDI)
Reviewed on Jun 17, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It’s very useful for asset management across all endpoints, and it helps me get the right reports for everything, including VDI machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
High Cost: Licenses are notoriously expensive. Individual Alteryx Designer licenses typically exceed $5,000 annually, and enterprise-wide rollouts with Alteryx Server require massive budget allocations.
Steep Learning Curve: While basic tasks are simple, mastering complex, multi-tool workflows, macros, and advanced features can be challenging for beginners.
Weak Data Visualization: Alteryx is an ETL and preparation tool, not a BI dashboarding tool. It lacks robust, native charting and requires pairing with tools like Tableau or Power BI for visual output.
Resource Intensive: Processing very large, complex datasets can be a heavy burden on local computer hardware, sometimes causing performance lags if not run on virtual or server environments.
Vendor Lock-In: Over-reliance on Alteryx's visual building blocks can occasionally hinder users from developing core hard coding skills (e.g., SQL, Python).

No-Code Data Prep That Streamlines Complex Workflows
Reviewed on Jun 17, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Analysts can clean, transform, and blend complex datasets without having to write SQL or Python scripts. It also saves a lot of time by reducing manual, spreadsheet-based data manipulation, such as complex Excel lookups or working with Access databases. The visual "process map" interface makes it easier for teams to create reusable workflows, building consistent, repeatable, and transparent data pipelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep Learning Curve: While it looks visually approachable at first, mastering the more advanced functionality and getting comfortable with the UI takes dedicated training and time. High Cost: Both the desktop (Designer) and enterprise server products feel premium and are expensive compared with simpler visualization tools. Performance & Scalability: Some users report that the GUI can become sluggish when working with demanding databases, and that the program is prone to occasional crashes during heavier operations. Niche: It has a smaller community and user base than mainstream languages like Python, so complex troubleshooting or AI chatbot assistance can sometimes be limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps break tasks into manageable, logic-based steps, such as data profiling, filtering, joining, and aggregating. You can design automated, repeatable workflows entirely through a visual interface, without having to write traditional code.
