Quick learning curve, multiple connections
What do you like best about the product?
There is a lot of tools and the community is very helpful. Very versatile with its automation features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need better output formatting features, especially to Excel files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To automate our finance process with regards to payroll, acrruals.
Excel power users will love Alteryx

Very straightforward to pick up and learn Alteryx, if you already use Excel it would make sense.

Overall, the processing speed can be faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to automate sales commission calculation and have been able to save a lot of time & resources.

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is the best user-friendly drag and drop tool to help sort all your data engineering needs. The use of different tools provided in the menu bar is self-explanatory.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. It is simply fantastic which can solve all your data problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Over MS Excel, I have realized we can use more than 50 databases, and Alteryx handles massive datasets very easily without seeing a single lag in the software.

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is a multi-faceted user interface. It empowers individuals such as myself to create an automated process. This ranges from data querying and automated workflow solution. Something my department handles on a given day is data reports. However, data reports require to take action. This tool enables users like myself to create an automated flow on a data report to an action.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see more graphic visual tools within Alteryx such as those features in tableu
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating workflow and data reporting processes. The exciting thing about alteryx is it can be placed on a scheduler. Thus removing a person from manually kicking off a query/job.

Alteryx is a good tool to perform fast calculations and data analytics work on a wide variety of files.

The UI for the tool can be improved. Overall no negative comments.

Nothing as such but ML capabilities can be better. Dataiku provides more advanced analytic capabilities

Out team extract data from various sources, clean and transform it and at the end load it to sql/gcp and alteryx makes this super easy. I also do some predictive analysis

Pricing of the product is at the higher end, which restricts the adoption of the tool across some firms considering the budget allocated
Less capability in designing the user interface, which could have been better for having a good user experience while interacting with the Alteryx application
Don't have the functionality like Excel Pivot table to drill down through the data and get insights which are a significant drawback
Reporting options can be enhanced to create alluring reports like the ones from Tableau, Power BI...

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Alteryx for data scraping and data blending from various data sources to cleanse and prepare the data to generate insights and create reports. Secondly, we use ALteryx to automate certain parts of our job, which is manual and time-consuming through Alteryx application processes.
An ETL tool that can solve basic Data Engineering task easily and effectively and also accurately.
What do you like best about the product?
Creating the jobs in this tool is very easy wrt Datastage. All the functions are easily deployable and usable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing constraints are sometimes tricky, as in ETL. We need a complete transformation of the data, and applying complex logic via regulations is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this tool for an ETL process and using this tool to load the data from Salesforce to Teradata.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Many Data Engineering (ETL) tools are out in the market. Still, this tool has a competitive advantage over others because of a higher user community, Ease of use and processing speed of large chunks of data with parallel processing.
Great Tool When Dealing with Large Data Sets Across Several Platforms
What do you like best about the product?
The visualizations make it easy for people without coding experience to build workflows. COnnect to and run SQL scripting is easy for those who know coding. Schedule reports to be sent via email, or FTP.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not run on MAC OS. I wish the charts looked more visually appealing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed up or replace sometimes slow and difficult Excel processes. Can be used across multiple departments to join databases that they own with the ability to join those datasets to create new ones.
Powerful data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to import various datasets and combine quickly, insert formulas to perform different functions, and ease of use (the learning curve is not that steep at all). The functions I end up using the most are join, union, and summarize (which is quite powerful).
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sometimes hard to make sure that it's doing everything correctly. I often manually do some of the computations I'm performing in Alteryx (just for a couple of data points) to make sure that the way I set up the workflow worked as intended.

Working with large datasets that Excel cannot handle or combining different datasets that have the same identifier
