A complete set of tools/platform for analysts
What do you like best about the product?
The code-free code-friendly concept and speed of processing are unique. Super intuitive to use and easy to master. No code needed, but if you are a coder, Alteryx offers R, Python & Spark coding tools.
I did not find a data source that I could not connect to yet (besides MDX ones).
In/out, preparation, blending, parsing, and transformation tools are the fundamental ones to start analysis.
Spatial operations and analytics are super powerful for analysis which requires these types of models/operations.

What do you dislike about the product?
Even when it already includes some AI/ML models, this area could be improved.
Other area which could be improved is the visualizations. It would be great to create the final users' visualization within Alteryx.
Finally, the UI does not reflect the great product Alteryx is.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data acquisition, accessing all types of data no matter the format, vendor or platform, I can connect, read and process the data.
Data blending, cleansing and descriptive analytics, creating consolidated data sets, such as joins, unions, summarize, and all basic and advanced data manipulation tasks.
Advanced analytics, like predictive and prescriptive analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Alteryx for its user community. Often today we are handed products and it is assumed that the users will learn how to best utilize the specific product. Alteryx comes with the Alteryx community which provides the best way to learn to utilize Alteryx to its highest standards.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I have to say. I just wish I could download Alteryx on my personal computer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m solving efficiency, accuracy and completeness problems with Alteryx.

A great data analytics tool for transforming and modelling data
What do you like best about the product?
The connections can be created with ease and abundance of functions make it very flexible to use. The configuration pane accepts standard logical expressions and helps the user to get familiar pretty easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alteryx doesn't allow us to run the workflow with the excel sheets open behind. Probably this could be worked upon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Huge benefits in terms of data modeling for further analysis when compared to traditional spreadsheets. The innumerable drag and drop options to create a workflow and tons of ways to connect to different databases make it more flexible to use.

A great tool to model your data and perform operations with great flexibility makes it a superb tool to extract, transform, load your data.
Alteryx is much more than just another data platform.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, automating processes, self service analytics, ability to become a Citizen Data Scientist, in built solutions & community support are just some of the key benefits of the platform.
I have been using this for 3 years now & it has impacted my life in a big way. I have saved so much time from monotonous tasks, created new innovative solutions & shared them with teams. What do you dislike about the product?
Literally nothing. It connects to almost every data source & from there you have all the freedom to do your magic. If I have to pick one thing, I would say it would be better if the platform had more Visual capabilities.

Automating Data processes, solving analytical challenges & creating frameworks, creating models to predict user behavior, doing Test vs Control.

We have moved from excels, multiple tools to just using this one platform & creating end to end solutions. Their community support is strong & the focus on customer is highly appreciated.
Being a part of their Beta let's us try the new features & give our feedback, hence being involved in the development process.

What do you dislike about the product?
Originally, I was put off by the cost per seat (it is hard to justify), but when you do a real ROI against that cost -- you are actually coming out ahead. People are now doing more value-added work as opposed to copying/pasting data into a dataset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to do things from bringing together over 400 templates into a master template, bring in financial data from various sources, and output into various formats all within a single workflow. The gain in analysis time is staggering. We are talking 1000's of hours back from data preparation.

Simple drag and drop interface, quick learning curve, code-free environment, and easy to share and collaborate

The current price structure makes alteryx hard to justify for small teams with tight budgets
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some macros are not saving correctly in the server. We have fixed these issues in the past but. trouble shooting is still a time consuming process with alteryx.
Great all-round platform easy to learn the basics.
What do you like best about the product?
The product can be configured and used extremely easily. Defined integrations can be used to define new integrations-saving significant effort and time.

Cost and inflexibility of license terms.

The need to merge, incorporate and combine data from various sources of data. The subsequent operation needs to be scheduled so that information can be processed for the next day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Until starting with the tool collection describe your overall data management strategy. Do not cause your overall strategy to overwhelm the characteristics and functions of certain devices. No universal tool is available, but the Alteryx platform can play a major role in data integration.

Not much scope of customisation and support of programming language.

What do you like best about the product?
You can not only just analyse the data on alteryx but also you can create analytics apps and macros in alteryx.

Some modules of interface and developer take time to process and sometimes it crashes too.

I use it to create analytical application and to create macros workflows which helps me to analyse large data for meaningful insights.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend alteryx because it is a much higher level to research on data analytics. The tools are really helpful and you can generate reports from it.
