What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
The map visualization is terrible. If you're planning on outputting presentation worthy maps, Alteryx is not the software for it!
The program has glitches - sometimes everything will be created perfectly (data joining as it should, appropriate fields selected, etc), but the program will fail to read in or "update" the workstream and cause errors
Though Alteryx is touted as "Big Data" friendly, we have seen those limits reached (billions of records) and been disappointed with run times.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx is particularly well-suited for demographic analysis and drive time analysis. Anything at the block group level seems to run quickly and without a hitch. Below though things get bogged down and slow. I would never suggest Alteryx as a map visualization software as this function is not user friendly and does not create presentation-quality results. While the software was originally known for its geospatial function and integration, it seems the company is moving its focus away from this - nice in some ways as R functionality and others have been added, but disappointing as I don't expect improvement in the existing geospatial tools.

What do you like best about the product?
Great software for ETL. Very user friendly and hands on learning with an active community of users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data is linear so can take some getting used to. Can have several different ways to solve a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits that I’ve gained from Alteryx is being able to prepare data from many different sources and having no limit with data at extremely fast speeds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend any analyst looking to speed up there processes with no limit of data to use Alteryx. This has made my job a lot more simpler and can process millions of rows of data.

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is very easy to use. Our team started using this last year and have picked up on its functionality and benefited much from it from reporting perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far we haven't found a functionality that we wish would have.

Automating reports.
Great for big data manipulation
What do you like best about the product?
The capacity to make a work process that can be computerized when it is done. This is something that Tableau Prep can not give us a chance to do at the present time. The assortment and profundity of instruments offered, just as usability. Does not require any coding background to utilize. For the most part, the product is more clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
Been great so far but hard to build sql queries natively which can be annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinating outside records to inward client databases. Acknowledged immense time investment funds and expanded precision. Help with tidying up and controlling information just as geocoding and using the statistic data in Allocate. For the most part, I utilize it for huge information pulls, consolidating numerous informational collections, making informational indexes, contrasting informational collections.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a decent information mixing apparatus. It is anything but difficult to learn and actualize. Its spare increasingly manual preparing time. Put it all on the line.
Alteryx can do things that nothing else can do
What do you like best about the product?
I love how I can use it to avoid memory errors when selecting a large amount of data (using SQL statements) and how you can migrate data across servers. You can also browse the data and put it in an Excel/csv/txt file among others.
What do you dislike about the product?
How expensive it it. My company needs to have people exchange their licenses because it costs so much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm joining data across servers and migrating data somewhat quickly using it.

Macros, Apps, Developer Tools, Spatial, Documentation Tools
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about Alteryx. I’ve never faced a limitation with this tool in hand.

Web scrapping, data prep, data cleanup, to support reporting using Tableau

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to drill into the data into some many ways. You can make whatever you want happen with data with this tool. We have solved so many complex problems with alteryx and it just won't have happened using excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Alteryx can continue to add more macros to accomplish different situations, and also have the program continue to run faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve complex tax issues using big data - millions of records and finding the correct information you need.
So Many Uses!
What do you like best about the product?
I can use Alteryx for almost anything! It it much easier to manipulate and match data in Alteryx than other platforms such as excel. I can combine data from different sources and file types. It has so many tools to join, match, compare, and transform data. My favorite tools are the fuzzy matching and summary tools. I also really love the data cleansing features.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does take some time to get to know how to use alteryx. There are so many tools and more than one way to achieve the same result. However they have good basic training materials to get you started and a decent community for more complicated questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main reason we chose Alteryx is because it has Fuzzy matching capabilities. This allows us to match leads to sales reports using company names that may not be listed exactly the same. This has allowed us to create ROI reports that we were unable to do before. Once I started using Alteryx I realized I can use it for so many different things. It has replaced excel for so many projects and has made it possible for me to quickly maneuver data in ways I was not able to before.
Simplify and Expedite Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is basically Excel on steroids. It's able to manage large quantities of data and manipulate it quickly. It allows you to annotate every step of the way and maintains data integrity as you can click through step-by-step and see every change that was made.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alteryx can be a little intimidating to those at first, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx allows us to comb through mass amounts of data quickly (seconds/minutes vs hours/days) and saves a ton of time from manual manipulation. By automating data manipulation, we also eliminate human error.

Take the trainings and join the Alteryx community. You can find very helpful answers there to your solutions as it's likely someone else already had the same issue.

Easy to use, GUI analytics interface that is great for self service analytics

Software's main support feature is an online forum so support is tough to come by in realtime
