DXC uses its consulting services to help customers determine how much value they can get from introducing IoT technologies into their factories. DXC then provides a discovery and design service that develops a tailored design and implementation plan for their specific factory and production lines.
Selected factory floor machines are connected using power I/O modules which send data to AWS IoT SiteWise via AWS IoT Core. Amazon Managed Grafana is used to display real-time energy usage data to the end-user in the form of dashboards that have been tailored to the client's needs. Additionally, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) buckets are used to ingest the production schedule and load it into AWS IoT SiteWise using AWS Lambda. AWS IoT SiteWise analyzes the power consumption data against the production schedule to determine whether select machines are running outside of the planned schedule, unnecessarily consuming energy and running up costs.
