Q: Who should attend AWS Summits?
AWS Summits, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS. The full-day agenda and ancillary activities offered at AWS Summit in Auckland will suit and cater to technical and management-level roles involved in the planning, strategy, delivery and implementation of their organisation’s cloud computing, from various industries and businesses of all sizes. Only 18 years and above are eligible to attend.

Q: How can I justify my attendance to AWS Summit to my manager?

Q: What is the price of registration?
There is no charge to attend AWS Summit, Auckland on 31 May.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?
Access to keynote, breakout sessions and the Expo Hall, as well as activities held within the Solutions Pavilion. Meals offered include light breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon refreshments for all registered delegates.

Q: Can I get a confirmation of my Summit registration?
Upon completing the online registration, you will be emailed a confirmation with details of the conference from Amazon Web Services. Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive this within 24 hours of registering online. You will be provided a “Know Before You Go” email in the lead up to the conference with a barcode, which you will be required to present on the day to access your conference name badge.

Q: Can I sign up for sessions I want to attend?
Session rooms will be filled on a first-come first-seated basis – there is no pre-booking of sessions. However, we request that during registration, you select the sessions you are interested in attending. You are free to change your mind and attend whichever session you wish, depending on room capacity.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session? 
While access to sessions cannot be guaranteed, it is recommended that you select the sessions you wish to attend as part of your registration process. This helps event organisers anticipate capacities for sessions.

Q: Are you streaming the keynotes or any sessions? 
No streaming of keynote or sessions will be made available outside of the AWS Summit event.

Q: Will the slides be shared after the event?
The keynote and sessions will be recorded live and shared on-demand after the conference.

Q: What is the AWS Summit Code of Conduct? 
AWS expects all conference participants (attendees, staff, speakers, sponsors, etc.) to behave in such a way as to create a safe, supportive learning environment while at the conference and any conference-related events. AWS will not tolerate any form of harassment or offensive speech or behaviour, including relating to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability. Participants engaging in behaviour deemed by AWS as discriminatory or offensive will be asked to leave the conference or related event immediately. Anyone witnessing such behaviour is encouraged to contact an AWS staff member so direct action can be taken.

Q: Is there any recommended accommodation?
Mercure Auckland is available at a discounted rate of NZ$195 per room/night between the dates of 28 May to 3 June (superior room only). Special discounted room rates are subject to availability.

Delegates need to refer to the following code to receive the discount rate, by either ringing Mercure directly or booking via when making a reservation. Please use the code BGPG in the ‘Preferential Code’ field, when booking online.

The hotel reserves the right to close the rate allotment without any prior information. Any rooms cancelled within 7 days of arrival will be charged 100% cancellation.
