Q: Is the VMware Cloud on AWS service still available?
Yes. The VMware Cloud on AWS service is still available to existing customers. Broadcom has indicated on their blog from May 6, 2024 that the service will “continue to serve customers just as it always has.”
Q: What has changed with VMware Cloud on AWS?
Effective April 30, 2024, AWS can no longer resell the VMware Cloud on AWS service.
Q: Will existing customers be able to purchase additional subscriptions from AWS?
Effective April 30, 2024, customers who purchased VMware Cloud on AWS through AWS will not be able to purchase new subscriptions, add-on services, or renew existing subscriptions.
Q: Can existing customers buy additional subscriptions directly from Broadcom?
Broadcom has stated that customers can renew VMware Cloud on AWS subscriptions directly from Broadcom or an authorized Broadcom reseller.
Q: How does this change impact existing customer billing?
Customers who have active one or three-year subscriptions including monthly payments that were purchased from AWS will continue to be invoiced by AWS until the end of their term. For any other questions related to billing, please reach out your AWS representative.
