Amazon Sumerian is now available in three new AWS regions: US West (Northern California), South America (Sao Paulo) and EU (Frankfurt). This expands the number of AWS regions where Amazon Sumerian is available to 9. Please visit the AWS region table for more information.

Additionally, customers can now customize the clothing worn by Amazon Sumerian Hosts. This includes the ability to pick from 4 outfits, select color, and even add logos to personalize the appearance of a Sumerian Host.  To learn more, please see the Creating Custom Clothing tutorial.

Amazon Sumerian is a managed service that allows developers to create and publish augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and 3D applications quickly and easily without requiring any specialized programming or 3D graphics expertise. Amazon Sumerian provides an integrated development environment (IDE), editor, asset library, Hosts, and APIs for the design, development, and deployment of scenes. Scenes created using Sumerian are published in a compatible browser which enables a developer to “create once and publish widely.”

To learn more, visit the Amazon Sumerian product page and review the Tutorials and Documentation website. To get started, please join the 10-part Twitch series on Developing VR and AR Experiences
