Amazon DynamoDB on-demand capacity mode and transactions are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. On-demand capacity mode is a flexible capacity mode for DynamoDB capable of serving thousands of requests per second without requiring capacity planning. Transactions provide developers atomic, consistent, isolated, and durable (ACID) operations in DynamoDB so that they can maintain data correctness in applications more easily.

On-demand capacity mode offers simple pay-per-request pricing for read and write requests so that you only pay for what you use, making it easy to balance costs and performance.

With transactions, developers can simplify code, and support workflows and business logic that require adding, updating, or deleting multiple items as a single, atomic operation. For example, a developer using DynamoDB to store key-value telemetry data about Internet of Things (IoT) devices can ensure that the location of grouped IoT devices is updated correctly when the group changes location.

Support for on-demand and transactions is available in all AWS Regions where DynamoDB is available. For pricing information, see Amazon DynamoDB pricing.
