AWS Data Provider for SAP version 4.0 is now available in all commercial regions, including AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.
AWS Data Provider for SAP is a tool that collects performance-related data from AWS services. It makes this data available to SAP applications to help monitor and improve the performance of business transactions.
AWS Data Provider for SAP version 4.0 introduces several new features:
- AWS Systems Manager Installation: You can now install the Data Provider package through AWS Systems Manager (SSM) — our recommended method— for both Linux and Windows-based SAP systems. If your organizational standards do not allow you to use SSM, you can continue to use the existing deployment methods that leverage Amazon S3.
- Instance Metadata Service v2 Support: AWS Data provider now supports Amazon EC2 Instance Metadata Service (IMDS) v2, in addition to v1.
- Automatic updates: AWS Systems Manager will automatically apply updates to AWS Data Provider.
