Overview

4EVERLAND is a Web 3.0 cloud computing platform focused on blockchain technology. With a global presence, it is helping developers to improve the efficiency of Web 3.0 application development.

By adopting Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) and AWS Global Accelerator, 4EVERLAND has built over 200 distributed gateway nodes worldwide in less than two weeks, and improved the overall efficiency by more than 50 percent. 4EVERLAND implemented server-side rendering (SSR) in less than one month, leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) services including Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon CloudFront and AWS Lambda, which has saved nearly 70 percent of development time.

Opportunity | Providing A Better Experience for Developers Worldwide

4EVERLAND  serves more than 35,000 developers and 40,000 decentralized applications (DApps) in more than 100 countries and regions, relying on the integration with Ethereum, InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), Arweave, Dfinity, Polygon and other ecosystems. It also integrates storage, network and computing as its core capabilities to help improve the efficiency of Web 3.0 application development. 4EVERLAND allows one-click access to Web 3.0 with its products and protocols in the application layer including DWeb hosting, decentralized storage, decentralized gateway, decentralized domain name, digital marketing system, and data service. This accelerates the building of a distributed network and Web 3.0 infrastructure with global acceleration, privacy protection and permanent link.

Solution | Building Decentralized Storage on the Cloud with Standard IPFS Solutions

The network efficiency is still a great challenge for current Web 3.0 blockchains. A single approach cannot be a cure-all for complicated global network connections; some teams have found that they can secure quick access to their decentralized finance (De-Fi) projects for users in Europe, but not for those in Asia. To secure stable connectivity and low latency for its Web 3.0 infrastructure, and to improve service robustness and security, 4EVERLAND is committed to building an efficient, self-motivated, cost-efficient distributed data hosting network.

To meet the demands for IPFS in various commercial scenarios requiring stable and reliable data storage and high access efficiency, 4EVERLAND needed distributed gateway nodes worldwide. It also needed unique cryptography and economic models to provide distributed storage and global access acceleration.

AWS offers an off-the-shelf solution for IPFS on the cloud. Thanks to the simple, serverless and high-performance elastic file system service of Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), 4EVERLAND now can copy fixed content in IPFS clusters across multiple availability zones with automatically scalable availability, while reduces storage costs with Amazon EFS One Zone.

Introducing Serverless Rendering

4EVERLAND believes the combination of Web 3.0 and Web 2.0 applications will result in better developer experience, so it equips the platform with the capacities of static pages, and of dynamic rendering as well. Server-side rendering could cause high costs, and would constitute an additional challenge due to more complicated deployment and management.

4EVERLAND uniquely introduced serverless computing to server-side rendering. Utilizing Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront and AWS Lambda, it created a complete serverless implementation method that is automatically scalable based on workload.

"Using services such as AWS Lambda and Amazon CloudFront, we had server-side rendering implemented in less than one month. Compared to our scheduled 3-month independent development plan, we saved nearly 70 percent of development time, and also lowered the costs of computing resources," said Deon.

Outcome | Helping Web 3.0 Developers with Technical Support

Besides technical cooperation, 4EVERLAND is working with AWS on Web 3.0 developer empowerment, to help startup teams build their Web 3.0 projects more efficiently on the cloud. "AWS is committed to the success of startups, which perfectly matches our philosophy. That's why AWS is providing technical support for our Monthly Star Project. We are working together to help more Web 3.0 developers get started and grow quickly, and to make sure more people and organizations benefit from Web 3.0 applications," said Deon.

With AWS, 4EVERLAND officially launched the first phase of Monthly Star Project on November 1st, 2022, and began to accept applications simultaneously. The 3-month phase one selects a winner among these Web 3.0 startup project applications every month. The winning startup teams have the opportunity to receive joint support from AWS and 4EVERLAND, including service vouchers, product advertising, community outreach, and so on. With these, the teams can make better use of AWS’ and 4EVERLAND's Web 3.0 infrastructure, and develop more innovative and valuable projects.
