Compuware APM for Elastic MapReduce

Product Overview

Compuware APM profiles Hadoop jobs in production to improve efficiency and performance and reduce time spent troubleshooting. You can automatically monitor and understand cluster usage by job and user, and pinpoint constrained resources. It is integrated with AWS Elastic MapReduce.

We offer three different sizes each befitting a specific Amazon EC2 instance size.

Our smallest offering is the Standard Large (m1.large) is licensed to run 12 Hadoop JVMs. This is good for sandbox environments and you can run clusters with following sizes: 3xm1.small and 3xm1.medium.

The Standard Extra Large (m1.xlarge) is licensed to run 50 Hadoop JVMs. This is already good for smaller production setups or test clusters: 10x m1.small or m1.medium, 7x m1.large and 5x m1.xlarge

The M3 Extra Large (m3.xlarge) is licensed to run 100 Hadoop JVMs. This is good for serious production clusters that are still small: 20 x m1.small or m1.medium, 16 x m1.large and 9 x m1.xlarge

All given sizes include the master for which m1.small is enough according to EMR documentation. All Clusters are also licensed to also monitor HBase.

If you are planning to run a bigger hadoop deployment or have a need for enterprise level support we are happy to help you set it up, please reach out to us under: aws-marketplace@compuware.com
