PerfAccel can be used to take advantage of instance store SSD in a smart manner. PerfAccel uses the fastest available device as a cache and ensuring optimal placement of frequently used hot data. The application directly benefits from faster reads from cache and reduced storage latency. In addition, since these read operations are offloaded to the cache, the backend storage device holding the full dataset is more responsive as it has to service fewer IOPS. Thus PerfAccel cache both improves read performance and implicitly improves the write performance of the application.
